Oh, neato. Never heard of a Wedgetailed Hawk, until now that is. :3

U R EAGLE

But uh, if you look at this it's easier to see that the width between the legs and the chest is equal.
Even though my edit's chest is still a lil too wide, I think widening the chest should be something to consider.

EDIT: oh woops, new version of the eagle didn't show for me when I first entered the page.

Badass.

Yeah I had to hard-refresh as well. I think I've fixed the issues though.

My bad for drawing a funky Australian bird of prey :P

Glad you like it.

Gun's good, the clusters up front make it look a little knobbly but that kind of adds charm.

I've always felt that bullets would look better if they were like that in CC.

A tedious little animation of an angry shotgun wielding man.

I messed up the speed when trying to convert it to .gif

Looks good dude, only bits that look wrong are the shoulder while reloading, and the recoil.

Recoil isn't a slow, pushing force, it's a sharp kick.
However, in this case I think it's okay - it adds a lot of comedy value. :3

However, I find it strange that his back foot never moves. It makes him look kinda static.

Thanks MLC, yea, the recoil is very exaggerated and not to be taken as accurate. I didn't bother to mess with his back foot because the recoil is supposed to be blowing most of his weight back onto it.
Can't be arsed to edit minor bits since I'd have to transfer it to Jasc studio and set the speeds frame by frame all over again.

Anyway...got to playing Haven and Hearth and wanted to try something Isometric

Aight Madmax, here's a tad of critique on that shooter.
(PS: I'll be assuming it's in a finished state)

So I'll be blunt, there's quite a few problems with your animation.

The first is that the motion is very spasmy or short lived.
For example, the front shoulder dips down after shooting, that's a spasm. Another example is when the front leg flies into the air for no real reason.

Many key spaces, like the white area around the shoulder, change size and shape constantly.
This is good for making the recoil look like it's reverberating throughout the shirt, but it makes for lotsa jitters, since white stands out from the other colors.

The head, when moving, is very choppy... this is easily fixed by taking duplicate frames and changing them slightly to be a tad closer to the next/previous.

The leg and vest.
Well, the leg really just spasms around to be honest.
Then the vest, just think of it scientifically.
The guy is moving to the left, and the loose clothing is trying to stay in the same place/pixel. Objects in motion tend to stay in motion etc.
Your vest's edge moves to the right, making it look like it's expanding.

The hand that's reloading, quite frankly, looks like it's teleporting. More frames! MORE FRAMES!

When the shooter slams his barrel back into place, that'd be a good place to put in a small effect and make him over-do it, causing the gun to point higher for a second.

(And why is there a line disconnecting the hand and arm?...)

Here's a quickie edit:

(TOOTHPICK >:D)

Though my edit isn't perfect, I'd like to think it's a step in the right direction. I honestly recommend looking through the changes frame by frame.

(Also Madmax, If you really need a gif animation program, graphicsgale is actually kinda nice now that I'm giving it another try. You need the full version, which costs money, to get Gif Animation support - but it's pretty nice. However, the full version shouldn't be too hard/expensive to obtain. If you need help with anything gimme a ring at CrazyMLC2 at gmail)

There's a reason to why I ignored your posts and that's one of them.

+ It's not so much as the game I don't like.
It's just that the community was nothing but /v/ and /tg/. Pretty funny. But it got pretty old and annoying since the main developers kept taking away and putting crap back in.

Back on topic from this derailment.

I made this one awhile ago. It's one of my favorites so I wanted to show others.

Three soldiers. Not quite happy with the marksman, but can't be bothered to do any more with them now.

H&H is a wilderness survival with crafting so I'm obligated to like it. Haven't met any 4channers, just a few helpful guys. The art designer needs to take some classes though.

*Crazy good critique and edit*

It's amazing what you can do with something in a few hours that I've been struggling with for a week. Great edit and critique. As tedious as it was, more frames meant more time, I decided to live with a lot of the choppiness, I didn't do much refining of the linework before coloring so that's where a lot of the choppiness fell through. One thing about your edit though, the shell falls too fast now, probably just something you overlooked.

Love the toothpick BTW.
