Downside: We're leaning more towards a 1-flag mode for this release (and possibly all following free releases, we'll see how that goes) to keep the introductory gameplay simple.
Upside: Very likely CTF within a week, possibly today if we work our asses off.

Not soon enough for that :P Probably within a month or three, which means I'm going to have to take my laptop with me overseas (I'm gone for ~3 weeks starting about a week from now), which should be interesting.

We're aiming to get CTF out and bug free first, with rooms, a few more constructions and siege weapons. The first stages of that will happen within a week (when the default game-mode is swapped over to CTF and we add at least 1 more construction as well as the support code), and should be finished by a month from now depending on how much polish we want to inject into the free version and assuming nothing goes horribly wrong. Account integration will happen at some point over that period assuming poe is competent.

Then we'll do the content crunch for the RTS version which will likely be the 3 types of flags epic battles mode, will likely contain a class upgrade tree and more resources and will probably get extra-pretty sprites afterwards (all subject to change, we're throwing ideas left right and centre at the moment). We're thinking the premium KAG will need to appeal more to hardcore players than the kind complaining about not being able to build skyladders soon, and we're aiming for a lot more depth and therefore replayability. Here's hoping that goes well.

Hahah, fair enough.

There's a hell of a lot of stuff I hadn't noticed was getting put into this build as well btw.
Spike traps among those things. Huzzah, finally those sprites get used..

It's likely to break every few days but it means you can test CTF and breaky buildings now rather than by the end of the week.

I got kicked in the beta for shooting at people. :|

Through walls.
(PS I wasn't the only one doing it, it was just because I kept shooting at FinDude, who kept coming right up next to me. >_> )

I blame the dev.


Also this vote kick system is really tarded, to be honest.
If anything it shouldn't be y/n, it should be none, kick, or ban.

On IRC I'm hearing a lot of stories of people just playing the game and getting kicked. Amazigh, for example, was blocking two dudes from going forward with his shield. They passed a vote to kickban him.

Saw that happening :( It's on the FIXME list, the through walls thing.

I think the accounts system will make votekicking make more sense - reputationless players won't be able to vote or start votes, and more reputable players would get more weight in the vote. I think the vote% could be raised a little though, and that only team-mates should be able to start a vote.
