I tried to teach myself how to throw knives once when I was like 12 or something. Got a kitchen knife a few inches into a tree trunk on the first throw, so I tried a few more times, getting successful throws up until the knife smashed its hilt open against the trunk.

The moral of this story is I was a dumb child. Also that if you decide to take that up (because it is kind of fun tbh) get some cheap throwing knives, the kind that are actually balanced for throwing and are easily replaced.
