No, it's pretty bad. I don't have anything really salvageable in there.

I'm using Livestream now, and it works a lot better than what I was using before, ironically, but KAG doesn't like having its rendering system hooked into for my program to directly record it. I sent a crash report.

Tried connecting to DXP's server, said "connection to server failed", it's the same with any other online servers I try.

EDIT: Crazy, if I can get the multiplayer to work I can play with you.

You guys won't believe it~

I sent this to my friend, who liked it so much that he linked it on reddit. Suddenly 10 servers with one bustling at max, the others from minimum ot half full go up. My god it was fun. 16vs16 KAG is just euphoric. Had some seriously awesome times fighting for the mountain, then sending a field scout out to report how far to shoot the rocks. Or when the enemy was digging a trench, order a "fire low" to flush them out.

Seeing all of this in action, it really brought to light what still needs to be fixed. One glitch I've been replicating for my team (hehe~) is loading up the catapult with a half tile of stone, so that when it gets to say 3, and subtracts 10, it flips to like 65000 stone. People still fell to the bottom of the map, but the addition of the caverns stops them in their tracks a little. this is still an easy escape if you know the right configuration of tiles.

But with 16vs16 everyone was able to fill dedicated roles - which made the gameplay much smoother. And with a gold goal of around 8000, it bought enough time to actually steal all of the enemy's gold with a number of successful (and unsuccessful) raids. Go Red!

So Geti, do we have the go to spread this on various forums and such?

I'm fairly certain I know of a couple forums that this could get some decent exposure to.

Woohoo! Great times, just won a really close game (I think Atnas was there!). Really different playing with lots of people.

The most immediately noticeable is the slower framerate, but that's unavoidable (?)
I think Knights are a lot better, in part due to crappier frame rate (shooting is harder and bombs become harder to dodge) and in part due to the logistics of bigger battles (arrows come in hails, you need building breakers more, bombs become more effective).

More players makes wood a more valuable and limited commodity (contributing to knight power)

Catapults are easily stocked and fire very quickly. I think this is probably mostly due to the glitch Atnas talked about, but in any case this has demonstrated the formidable power of catapults. In that close game I played today the enemy reached the central mountain before us and built a catapult, making it very difficult for us to do anything. We gained an early gold lead, though, and powered that through while defending our stockpile.

Weaker players have a humongous impact on there team, more than the same number of good players. I think I saw a clan while I was playing, is that discouraged or encouraged? I know in Call of Duty, organized teams sweeping through random matchmaking teams is kind of a problem.

edit: is anyone else having problems connecting to the master server?

Contrary, I think i might have been in that game. Did you have Blue dig a tunnel through the middle of the mountain, and due to protests have us blow out one half of it into a large pit on Red's side to make it harder to climb through?

At one point I remember scuttling builders and archers across under my shield, there was so much catapult fire.

Blue forever!

Huh. Seems like the best strat is too simply hole up with your gold behind your tent and just mine a lot. Due to how slow walking is and how fast reinforcements show up raids are really difficult. I've been on both ends of pretty decent contains and the defender always seems to win.

It's so neat being at the beginning of the game, not only seeing how the game but also how the game is played changes.

Oh yeah, that Orc mod came to a halt. I ran into some frame size problems and got bored. If anyone wants it just pm me.

Wow that reddit thing just made it crazy. More than a 1000 downloads in a few hours, the same amount as since from the release! It just made me work in the middle of the night. Had to fix all the issues that I didn't predict. Like I capped the master server connections to 32 (dumb).

If you have any videos recorded, please upload them somewhere. I have some footage of my own (fraps does very well) and I will combine it to make a trailer.

WE NEED YOUR COLLECTIVE RECORDING POWER! ANYONE WITH A HULKING CPU/GPU COMBO WANTING TO SHOW YOUR METTLE NOW IS THE TIME!

PM me with any video upload links, preferably not youtubed but dropboxed or min.us'd filesmelted or whatever the cool cats are using.

Well, looks like reddit's good for something after all ;) Thanks a ton Atnas!
The catapult overflow bug is something we'll have to look into definitely, hopefully only a few people notice until we do..

You don't have to, but it'd be nice :)

@Contrary: Clans are welcome, as long as they don't get abusive. We might make serverside flags for locking teams and the like so if people want random teams they can have them. I think organised play is kind of paramount in this game.

Alright, sent a fairly sizable email with video links and descriptions of the game to RPS, hopefully we'll get an answer.

I made tons more. You can look at them in the "On-Demand" Library.
I have all of the AVIs for those, too, if anyone wants them.
