nonseq, that is your internal ip. use whatismyip.com to find out the external ip.
edit: not sure why it can't be seen from the menu though. did you forward your ports correctly?

Re: King Arthur's Gold - A 2D Minecraft-like
I think a DRL server should have a decent map rather than flatlands, to get some competition going (as opposed to skybridges and two forts that get bombed over and over) As such, Map Edit: DOWNLOADI'd love to know how it plays with two decent teams, so I kind of need two decent teams to play on it. I figure that you guys would likely be most qualified for that (since DRLFF is, you know, the best ever ). The amount of gold has increased but it's still a lot less than you'd find on a standard map. It's overall closer packed in and should lead to faster gameplay. If you do host it, let me know how it goes.

Now that we have all this stuff, how about we do a castle war? Like both teams have 1 castle, 1 catapult, some archers, some knights, and one catapult loader? And the team who destroys the enemies' gold vault wins. But the rule is that you may not dig, only destroy.

Re: King Arthur's Gold - A 2D Minecraft-like
I see only two problems: skybridges and digging under a castle. Skybridges can be now effectively destroyed by a catapult which is nice. But I'm thinking also about making some VERY basic physics so that bridges will require support. This would significantly slow down building of skybridges and they could be knocked off even easier. I don't want to get rid of them completely because I think it's fun to drop down from the sky once in a while (but only if you are lucky, it shouldn't be a valid tactic). Digging a tunnel under the castle is what bothers me most, because I have no concrete idea how to prevent it. Ideas I've had are: water around the castle, alligators, spikes... Any ideas? granate07 wrote: Now that we have all this stuff, how about we do a castle war? Like both teams have 1 castle, 1 catapult, some archers, some knights, and one catapult loader? Both teams build for 15 minutes (forced to stay on one side) 2. War begins. The objective is to destroy the enemy tent. We need more people to know about this game. There hasn't been even a 1000 downloads. The fact that sometimes there are 12 player battles is a miracle with that tiny amount of people having the game. Just shows that the game is building a fanbase .
How can we tell more people about it? Does anyone run a review site?King Arthur's Gold DEVLOG http://kagdev.tumblr.com/

Re: King Arthur's Gold - A 2D Minecraft-like
I don't think digging under the castle would be a huge problem if the maps are shallower. Perhaps half the current depth? At the moment the limited number of players you tend to get are spread really thin, as half of them tend to be digging trenches beneath the surface. If the maps were shallower, you'd get more player interaction, as people would run into each other more often. Unrelated, but I hope you limit the fire rate of the catapults. It's pretty ridiculous at the moment. I think stone needs to be much tougher, and you should probably be able to build reinforced doors. This could be countered by trebuchets which are more difficult to build, but throw entire stone blocks which can smash through multiple blocks. There could possibly be hard limits on how many siege weapons each team can have, though you'd need to be able to move or dismantle them. All you need to do many is work on the main menu's appearance and I think you're golden. I'll talk about it wherever I go.

AWESOME. Anywho, I recorded an hour and a half of gameplay... but the video decided it didn't like going at a constant speed. The sound is synced up, everything is fine, but no. it randomly goes in and out of slow motion.

I sort of like the title. Also, I'm trying my hand at modding and making some sort of Red Faction, Mars, Marauder thing.
