Wohooo, the day I ship out for college and 3 days before I turn 19!

I'm older than you Whitz trololololololo by 5 days.

The rapture is not the end of the world, it's supposed to be when everybody gets judged and the good rise to heaven whilst the sinners stay to endure a torturous pain and to have time to "repent" and "accept god". The dead are supposed to rise from the ground and litter the streets (just as corpses not zombies unfortunately), until the world finally ends on the 21st of october (which happens to be 1/1/2012 on the mayan calendar).

It's quite interesting really, but from the lack of people being poofed out of existance and into heaven, the dead littering the streets and constant pain I'd say the world isn't going to end (to be honest it would be kind of epic, but ya know got a life to live so I'm not complaining).

I pity the fool that spent all of their life savings in the lead up to the 21st.

That's a literal interpretation of Revelation - a book of the bible that opens by explaining that it will be obscure and nonsensical unless you know how to interpret it correctly.

Maybe doomsday actually happened and we all just got moved to some temporary storage while the bureaucrats in purgatory look over our records.

I think our kind has the Predestination complex. That is we are told by religion that there will be an apocalypse. We will try to avoid it but while we are doing that, we will just bring it upon our heads. If the world will end, it will probably be because of our failure to understand what to do with it and because of our errors in doing bad things to it. We will fulfill our destiny in our hubris.

Here in Texas on the day of the supposed apocalypse, it was a beautiful day out.

I didn't even know about this 'end of the world' until I saw this topic a while ago, and if I had gone to hell/etc before seeing it I woulda been damn pissed.
