Re: The guns in CC and your thoughts (so we can make 'em better)
Weapon: Dummy sniper rifle and Dummy grenade launcher
PROS: You get exactly what the back of the box promised.
CONS: Other than an orange paint job there isn't anything really "Dummy" about them, I think the 'nade launcher should fire Impulse grenades or something and the sniper should shoot something that isn't a normal bullet, that's not what Dummies are a about.

They should fire blunt proyectiles and kill actors gibbing them because of the GibImpulseLimit rather than the GibWoundLimit.

Or maybe hypervelocity nails that don't do a great deal of damage but penetrate like crazy.

Forget about all that stupid laser blaster nailer impulse glowy whatever stuff. Just give the dummies machine guns. You can't go wrong with machine guns.

Forget about all that stupid ballistic guns. Just give the dummies kinetic based and energy weapons.

Re: The guns in CC and your thoughts (so we can make 'em better)
personally i'd rather see the dummies with a sort of "1 of every type of generic weapon" deal, like the coalition have now, and have the coalition with unique and interesting weapons. why? because the dummies should be used for training and getting used to things. bizarre energy weapons are not the optimal set up for getting used to the basic mechanics of the game. Crow wrote: By the way "kinetic weapon" is the stupidest term ever. yeah, i have to agree with that.

Agreed, all real weapons (EDIT: most weapons, whatever) (excluding lasers, but those haven't really been weaponized to any real extent, yet) impart kinetic force so it's kind of like saying "brightening flashlight" or "volume enhancing microphone" yeesh.

Lets just agree that if you say something is stupid, people will automatically think less of you, unless it really, really is stupid. Also calling something stupid is a good way to start arguments, which are good ways to start flame wars. Also there are so many non kinetic weapons you would have to have alzheimers to forget them.

Re: The guns in CC and your thoughts (so we can make 'em better)
Oh come on all of those weapons somehow involve kinetic energy. It's like talking about "energy weapons", which is also a term I've seen tossed around as though it actually means something. EDIT: I'm not saying all weapons involve hitting something with something heavy. I'm saying that the term you've made up is silly (and that it's no coincidence that a quick google search for the term basically gives you a giant page of stuff written by science fiction fans). Major wrote: Lets just agree that if you say something is stupid, people will automatically think less of you, unless it really, really is stupid. Also I really hope that this isn't a widespread attitude. On Earth I mean.

Re: The guns in CC and your thoughts (so we can make 'em better)
A weapon imparting kinetic energy does not qualify it as a kinetic weapon. Dictators would love you though, because by your logic poison gasses and incendiary weapons and such are a-okay because they are definitely kinetic weapons and thus totally not war crimes to use. Besides, he obviously meant kinetic as in directly imparting a great deal of force, like the impact grenade.
