The masterserver is down at the moment -> hosting a server won't do anything. Hopefully it'll be up within the hour but I can't guarantee anything..

the reason i thought i did this is because i said "server shut down in 3, 2, 1" and then the master server went down about 5 seconds later. yeah.

I did too, with some interesting gold placement. Those of you not wanting to spoil the deposit's location can save it from this link directly into KAG/Base/Maps

Anyone else can just view it here.

I think having uneven distribution of resources is fun: Red have way more stone at their fingertips (including the rocky crag) but Blue have a lot more wood. I also think that in tiled games large flat areas just work so much better than noisy "smooth" environments. I think it's important to keep gold fairly evenly spread around though; I'd be interested in knowing how it plays with more people. I prefer it at 4x btw. Much more personal.
