Looking for some co-op shooters
So, me and mah buddy just finished playing Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 for PC and we just loved the co-op campaign and the terrorist hunt. But now I'm having a really hard time looking for the next game we'll be playing through the night. So, does anyone know any good co-op shooters for PC that can be played in LAN?

Re: Looking for some co-op shooters
You could always try ARMA II on coop. Its a bit difficult to get the coop to work right though.

Yeah, I thought about ArmA II too but the problem is that OFP/ArmA games are too slow-paced for him.

MW2 spec ops, killing floor, Portal 2 (not quite a shooter, but oh well), Sven coop (hl1 mod), BF2 has a pretty nice coop, however it's just the multiplayer with bots, they do prioritize you over other bots. Borderlands is pretty good too.

Re: Looking for some co-op shooters
MW2 and BF2 are too fast-paced. We're looking for tactical shooters rather than shooting galleries. We've been playing Sven Co-op so much now that we're getting quite sick of it. Prolly gonna try Borderlands next, I remember playing it with my brother. Thanks for the suggestions, Lizard!

Borderlands is a lot of fun. It's a little hard to maneuver with your stats and such when you pause(you'll see what I mean when you play), but otherwise (and single player-wise) it's a great game. With lots of expansions.

Though I suppose in a more abstract sense than "take cover, move 5 inches and take more cover". Though there were also levels that lended themselves well to that strategy, if you like that kind of thing. Definitely more tactical than Borderlands, though. Borderlands is really great fun but it's the last game I'd call "tactical".

Alien Swarm? Depending on exactly what you're looking for.

I remember once suggesting Alien Swarm but I dunno why he didn't like it. And Borderlands... is just so amazing.

Re: Looking for some co-op shooters
I'm not sure how hard it would be to come across now days, but Conflict: Desert Storm (one and two), and Conflict: Global Terror (Or Global Storm, depending where you are) used to be pretty neat tactical co-op games, the last of which being the best. Conflict: Denied Ops was supposed to be the next game in the series, but was a total pile of garbage run-n-gun.
I remember playing that a lot with my friends. ...and a lot of fighting over who got to carry the RPG found in some little bunker.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction, tactical shooter.

Me and my friend managed to run and gun through every level up to Scud Alley, at which point we got stuck. Never actually beat it, might have to go back to it sometime.

I'll take a look at Conflict: Desert Storm I & II, I'm pretty sure I've heard it somewhere...

Re: Looking for some co-op shooters
Wasn't the original Desert Storm really boring for player 2 on the first level?

Global agenda. It's not the best tactically, but it's free and I wanna plug it.
