Dude, seriously, the forums just got attacked by a Russian hacker, patience is a virtue.
Go to where you installed CC, ex Program Files. Then download your mod, click Save As and save it to where you installed CC. Extract the folder, which should end in .rte. Run Cortex Command and see the mod.

^Extending the above^ When you download a mod, you should get a folder with ".rte" on the end of it. That folder goes into your Cortex Command directory, which may or may not look like this: Code: C:\Program Files\Data Realms\Cortex Command\ When you have put the mod into that directory, it would look something like this: Code: C:\Program Files\Data Realms\Cortex Command\MODNAMEHERE.rte If that doesn't work then you need to get somebody to do it for you.

Seriously? Installing a mod for CC is retardedly easy. Download a mod, drag and drop it into your CC folder. PROBLEM. SOLVED.
Also the forums were down as part of an April Fools' prank which turned serious when we were attacked by KGB counterintelligence forces.

Who'd have thought the FBI and the KGB were friends now.

Bit of a hyperbole there, sillybilly. KGB = lone Russian hacker who was most likely bored and/or stoned.

Well, on linux, I didn't managed to get one single mod working.
I had to use wine when I got bored of vanilla CC, so this is not trivial for everyone.

The HIB linux build is buggy as all hell from what I've heard, you're actually better off using the windows build and wine. That fact is not the forum folk's fault though, it's whoever ported the game to *nix's fault.
