Re: thesoupiest's Combined Forces - Release 2 (2/14/11)
Re: explosions. that's an M67 on dirt. similar on dust with people for scale. If you're after a cleaner blue flame for the trooper you'll probably want to drop any smoky emissions altogether. Maybe some really short lifetime smoke particles would be nice, or gibbing MOSRs that turn into dust near any ground. The Revenants turret is flashy but not fearsome, imo. The sparks need a complimentary effect, but that's up to you, for sure. Re: gibs - you can be conservative if you're smart about making versatile MOSPs to compliment the unique gibs. Adding some of the vanilla scrap or meat gibs also adds more debris for 0 effort.

Re: thesoupiest's Combined Forces - Release 2 (2/14/11)
This is just a suggestion, but the heavy trooper may actually be better off with a Jump pack. It would elevate the stick in and enable it to move, but stop it from jetting around. Seeing a heavy trooper suddenly leap 20 feet in the air, leaving a burst of fire, dust and smoke behind him would be pretty awesome. If you could get it to look like those dust clouds geti posted that would be even better.
As per flashiness on the guns, some small details could be added that don't stray too far from real: Some nice smoking shells being ejected is a good first start, as is smoke and some exaggerated muzzle flash on firing. Lasers could have glow on firing, hopefully glowing progressively brighter as the laser is fired more. The Tesla cannon could have some stray electrical discharge when it fires and it's big battery clip thing you drop when you reload could glow and eventually harmlessly burst into particles. TNT could have a smoking fuse, antimatter charge could have a nice "wooo wooo wooo" sound effect, just stuff like that, little touches.

those sprites are G-G-G-GODLIKE i like the heavy soldier but he dies quite quick even with his size but i guess thats just cortex command or me sucking.
EDIT: the guns like burst rifle and lmg have no traces on the bullets i don't know if its on purpose or a bug.

That poor Heavy.
And yes, thesoupiest, give us a slender soldier with breasts. Everyone loves breasts!

Considering the scale, unless you head towards objectification it's hard to tell breasts from chest armour, but whatever takes your fancy.

Whatever, female hormone injected clones are dainty, weak, and agile. [Effeminate] Male hormone injected clones are large, and strong. [Emasculate] The ones treated with both hormones are and inbetween. [Androgynous] Besides, there was an Art Thread by Pormster, 'had a lot of silly game elements, and themes. The only other question is how much of a wo/man they are...
