1 day ago: Following new legislation in Kolotos, high-income earners pay a 100% tax rate.
Not exactly what I had in mind when I said I wanted people with higher incomes to pay more.

Re: Nation States
so, I think my republic of greddletwat is boned. my 2nd leading private-sector business is casinos, and due to 8-year-old-children gambling, I have to outlaw gambling. either that or "teach children that it's not hard work or knowledge that bring success, but pure chance"
also "Crime is relatively low" but in issues "As crime rates rise, some in the community are calling for increased policing. -- "Just the other day, I got mugged in the broad daylight!" says ruffian Thomas Hamilton. "And the ironic thing is I had just stuck up this other guy. When muggers are getting mugged, even I have to admit that crime has gotten out of control. We do need more police.""
I'm sad cause I'm not getting any of the issues I want.

Re: Nation States
Quote: The Free Land of Gnu Guinea is a fledgling, socially progressive nation, renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its compassionate population of 6 million enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.
The large, liberal government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Social Welfare, and Religion & Spirituality. The average income tax rate is 28%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Beef-Based Agriculture.
Voting is voluntary. Crime is a serious problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Gnu Guinea's national animal is the gnu, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Ω.
Gnu Guinea is ranked 842nd in the West Pacific and 20,915th in the world for Most Avoided. I'll play. PM the password to me or something, so I can join the Realms of Data. http://www.nationstates.net/nation=gnu_guinea
