My gauntlets were already on, as I'd been workin' with 'em. And, well, I'm not really going to be using my hammer as a weapon but more as a tool.

You speed off towards the nearest city guardsman you can see. He seems panicked. The rank by his collar shows that he is a captain.
"What can I do to help here?" you ask quickly.
The soldier responds. "If you have any fighting skills, please, help! We need all the men we can get, or we stand no chance! Here, if you need a weapon, take this blade." He tosses you a shortsword, then quickly turns back to the fight, ready as the demons get closer... and closer yet.

You rush to the nearest tower, but your eyes are distracted by the fast-approaching demons. Before you know it, you're there, and you run face-first into the watch-tower wall. Wuhhh... you feel dazed.

You quickly pull out your trusty dagger, then search around desperately for another weapon you can use. There doesn't seem to be anything around. You find plenty of bodies, sure, all shredded beyond recognition, but any useful tool has also been destroyed.

You run like the wind, racing over to the tower and up it. Once at the top, you equip your crossbow, and aim out of the window. There's a demon below that you feel you could easily hit.

Nighthawk's Opinion of the Turn (or N.O.T. for simplicity's sake.)

That one kind of sucked as a first turn, didn't it? Sorry some of you guys got ones, and you're now riddled with status effects, but I tried to keep them as not-so-serious as possible so it wouldn't kill you off in the first fight.

The demons are nearly here. They'll attack in the next round!

Sorry, but you can't use magic. Yet. I know that you guys probably want more info, but all I can say is that all will be revealed later. There is a whole system for how to obtain active abilities. If you want magic, you need to get an active ability, and until this first fight is over, you will not be able to do that.

So just survive this one, then everything will become clear. Until then, Tokochiro, you must change your action. Another thing - Befriending the raccoon and launching a tunderbolt are two major actions. You can only make one.

Drawing my short sword, proceed to bash the skull of the first demon I see with intent to harm a villager.
"Go back to Hell, you damned beasts! Nobody attacks my town and lives to tell of it!"

-I'm hoping the gauntlets will prevent my grabby-limbs from getting hurt, I'll do some stabbing next turn. Also, by 'bash the face in', I mean maul with my free arm. I don't want a negative modifier for fear of stabbing a villager.

You're either very kindhearted... or paranoid about being chased by police.

Or a bit of both.

Don't worry about the villagers. You most likely will not hurt them because they'll be too busy running for their lives. :wink:
