Yes, Offsets are the main reason I dislike modding Actors.
But it looks like everyone else just wants lua scripts to be attachable to guns, so Darlos can update Darkstorm.

Do I really have to decide for one? I mean, some of them are quite epic.
Walkpaths editor, friendly scene editor, the new sprite sizes (well, in some moment we will have to get used to it)...
¬¬
Too many things to choose from.

Would IsScrap being fixed allow mods where bunkers could be built mid-game?

Not completely, as we still need the background. I am hoping more for just giving us control over sceneobject placement with lua.

Isn't there a bomb in Ballistic Mercenaries that lets you return to Bunker Building mode mid-game?

EDIT: Actually it doesn't work with B24, disregard that.

On a joking note, less crashes would benefit the modding and user community the most.

But seriously, I might have experienced more crashes with B24 than all the crashes I had in B22 and 23 combined by now. Digger in someone's face=crash, a bomb exploding at zero distance from an actor=crash, rocket in some's face=crash. And these are the normal stuff that happen in CC :???:

It's annoying those frequent crashes ruin good games, and you weren't even using any ridiculous mods. I mean, it's way beyond the level of a minor bug, and way beyond tolerable for me.

I don't seem to have many crashes in B24.
The only times I had crashes where when I had too many mods installes and when I dropped three of my nukes at the same time.
Maybe I'm just lucky.

EDIT: I made my mind. Lua on attachables.

While we're on the topic of Lua attachables, it would be nice to be able to set variables on a normal object pointer, instead of grabbing it from AHumans or whatever, so we don't have to do things like the PresetName hack, which while perfectly fine by itself, has issues with other scripts using PresetName(cloning tubes, other things storing in PresetName).

Now that we've got a nice spread on the poll, I'll reveal my selection as being for a real walkpath editor.

To me Cortex Command's true charm comes from its art style. That style is expressed strongest through CC's factions and and thus actors.

Easily the biggest frustration with modding new actors is walkpaths. It's like modding blind. Sure, offsets are super annoying and tedious, but once you figure out what direction is up, down, etc, it really isn't hard.

I want an editor, however primitive, that lets us drop and drag points of the walkpath out for our actor, and then let the game show us exactly what that actor will look like when walking/crawling/standing/etc on that path.

Here's to holding out.

As an aside, I would love most of the things on this list, and the popular vote is unsurprisingly on the change that will bring about the greatest influx of new possibilities (Lua on attachables), but as primarily an actor modder, I would love some tools that make it not so tedious.

Yeah, that's so true.
Though my main problem actually is spriting, I know it's hard to set walkpaths, specially for big units.

I just realized something about AI support.
Seeing as Abdul is on the dev team, I'm betting better Lua AI support is in the works already(or Data's just having Abdul modify the hard-coded AI).

Sounds like they're in the process of exposing the AI to Lua.

Well, since Data indirectly announced Onlive for CC, I wish we had full online support so we could host servers with mods, legit online multiplayer etc.
What? Modders like to play the game too.

There are ways to work-around the attachable thing, and I can't think of something good for that off the top of my head.

I'm surprised that no one has voted for the friendly scene editor.
If I hadn't voted for the lua stuff, I'd have voted for that one.
