The server shouldn't have any B24 incompatibilities. It's a problem at your end.

Actually, Roast Veg, that is incorrect. Remember, I added names, so I had to make the server account for that.

The names and a fix for particles were the only things I changed for the new version.

Martin: I playtested this with a friend. It has a tendency to just not give you another player to play with.

When it does decide you're allowed to meet up over the cloud, though, it works. Provided my friend and I with a few hours of entertainment.

I will say, though, that the recoil on that Laser Shotgun is pretty damn ridiculous. I lowered it by a fair amount on mine, and my friend did the same (i.e. we reduced the ParticleCount to 5 and halved FireVelocity from 200 to 100).

There is no cloud. It's hooked up to my obsolete crappy laptop in my room that's acting as my dedicated server.

The reason you found no one is because no one was playing at the same time you were. I'm surprised it hasn't crashed yet.

If it DOES end up crashing, then I can't fix it until next week. That's why I'd rather you guys didn't do modifications to the code
(though, recoil modification is relatively benign as long as both parties do it).

EDIT: Server down, until further notice.

If people keep changing the code there will be even more bugs and nobody will be using the same version.

How do I host? Is there a chance I can run the server on my Linux box?

Look at line 518 and see what's there. If you messed with it, it's probably something you typed wrong. If you didn't, you might be using the wrong version of Cortex.

i'm sorry but I couldn't find it in the OP, and i'm not spending time reading 24 pages to find a way to host a server so I and fellow CC players can have fun.
