Concrete =/= Soil
A simple question, I think, with a simple solution.
Q: What the hell is the point of spraying/having available concrete that breaks underfoot in a manner akin to loose soil?
I guess as a brand new player, I could be doing something wrong and missing out some small, vital part of the concrete-spraying process, but I fear not. I suggest (with complete lack of modding knowledge) increasing the 'Resistance vs. Shoes' of concrete particles, preferably to a level slightly below that of bunker walls. Discuss?
EDIT: A little extra playtime has cast some doubt on my opinion regarding this. I'm not entirely sure what caused the 'soft concrete' effect I experienced earlier, perhaps something to do with the surface beneath the concrete.

Actually, concrete without rebar is amazingly fragile.

Yes i can agree with you on that i've found little too no use when it comes to concrete sprayer i'm thinking someone needs to script it so the actors can't damage the terrain but still can damage when fireing weapons apound it.
Rebar? i'm guesting thats the metal they place down before they poor because not all concrete is that fragile because when i removed a large amount of concrete last year it took ages and that stuff was even harder than normal concrete with no rebar within it.

Re: Concrete =/= Soil
Right, and what were you using to break it down? Your fists? Sure, concrete that isn't reinforced can withstand a person walking over it, but try hundreds of people of varying weight, not to mention the thing they carry, the vehicles that traverse them, et al--concrete in perspective is very fragile.
You are but one person. One wave breaking upon a shore does not create sand, but many many waves certainly will. It's all a question of proportion.

Materials.ini in base.rte has the strengths of all the materials, you can bump up Wet Concrete to make it harder to dig into with just your feet.

Re: Concrete =/= Soil
So it is basically pointless to have multiple types of sprayers?

yeah, I dont really like the concrete sprayer either, it takes to long to do things with it.
aside from making peoples heads explode!!
id like to see something where you can draw out the lines, itll add a border and only let concrete settle in that area, so you can make shapes and buildings.

Some kind of construction tools would be good, or perhaps a low-velocity, high-volume concrete sprayer for one of the factions. I'm not sure how the in-game construction could occur, though I'm sure nobody wants to see Worms-esque girders popping out of thin air. Perhaps some kind of unarmed mantlet-droid? Deployable chest-high walls?
