Basically cover isn't so good in those oh-so-real wargames b'cause you can just shoot right through 'em. So why even go for the cover? Sure, the enemy won't see you but you have to hide the whole freakin' time for that.

Not all automatics have the muzzle vel to penetrate steel, and you'd be surprised just how useful a bale of hay can be for stopping bullets. It's easy enough to make rudimentary armor for your car by filling it with telephone books in the panels. Haven't you ever watched Burn Notice?
