Dead Space 2
Who likes it? Who wants it? Who's getting it? What do you think? I'm not pre-ordering it, but I want it. I hope I get it and I think that it's significantly more badass that the first, which I still haven't finished. Who's played the demo on XBL? [SPOILERS] When I watched his upgraded armour's helmet construct itself over his head I was going "DONT END DEMO HERE DONT END DEMO HERE DONT DONT DONT" then was highly relieved when it didn't . However, when it did end at the monsterous brute-lookin' thing after the gunship-vent-tumble I was impressed. Thanks EA.[/SPOILERS]

Re: Dead Space 2
From looking at it, it looks more of the same, really.
Kinda expected more out of it.

Re: Dead Space 2
More of the same isn't completely wrong, a lot is the same, but there are some fundamental changes. It would be good for huge fans of DS1, or for people who never played much DS1, but if you played through DS1 and weren't crazy about it, I'd suggest waiting until the price drops some, or borrowing it, or whatever.

Re: Dead Space 2
Does "More of the same" mean "Broken PC port" as well?

Re: Dead Space 2
I thought the PC port worked fine, I got no bugs with it and the controls weren't half as bad as the RE5 ones

Eh, I bought it cheap and gave it a go, but the mouse acceleration totally killed it for me. Who ever thought that mouse acceleration was a good thing?

Re: Dead Space 2
Played through it with friends over the last few days, with some of it in a cinema with the most epic sound system I've ever played games on.
I must say, I really liked it. The only thing I'm iffy on is how over the top some of the deaths were (esp. the javelin-through-head self-death <_<;) but it was pretty well polished, only had a few non-important glitches that I noticed and kept what I liked the first Dead Space for: the atmosphere.

Re: Dead Space 2
Literally just finished this like 5 minutes ago and I have to say, not a disappointment at all.
It was spread out perfectly and story was amazing, still kept its creepiness while giving it more of a scare (since the first didn't really do good at that). Ending was great although I have to say I was a little let down that you only fight necromorphs and not those cool looking Gaurds/Soldiers too, I thing that would have bumped up the gameplay quite a bit but all in all it was a fantastic game.

Re: Dead Space 2
From the looks of what they did to your health in ~chapter 13 though, they'd mop the floor with you. I just wish you got to see more of the carnage the necromorphs caused after you let them in, you only get to see the results for the most part, and it'd be nice to have someone else shoot the damn things for you more often.

Re: Dead Space 2
I keep shitting my pants so hard that I have to turn the brightness ALL THE WAY UP for at least 30 seconds.
Also, only bad part of this is that multi-player doesn't really have any ability to play through the story with buddies. Just "ACQUIRE THIS, ACTIVATE THAT AND SURVIVE FOR ONE MINUTE"

Re: Dead Space 2
Split screen multi (with bots for extra points) would've been awesome. Me and my buddies can't play it because we've got some mighty fine (read: lame) lag from NZ to anywhere inhabited.
Also: playing in the cinema was even more awesome because even with the brightness all the way up the logo was only visible after your eyes adjusted. The dark areas in the ishamura were awesome awesome awesome fun.

Re: Dead Space 2
Psh, Rookies.. I put my brightness all the way down.
Having to go back on the Ship was a rather cool point in the game, I liked that.
Also Im quite jealous Geti, playing it like that must have been sick!

Re: Dead Space 2
Brightness all the way down in the cinema meant everywhere not directly under a lamp was nearing pitch black, and anywhere meant to be "dark" simply didn't exist. It was amazing, if you know any projectionists (like I do) then see if they can get you into a cinema after closing
