Well, not necessarily archaic, but incompatible maybe.

Yeah because i5's are completly archaic.
Less crashes lately, maybe the spectator mod just makes it fragile.

Actually, blame DaTa. If your PC can run the game to begin with and it meets all of the system requirements, there's no reason for the game to crash randomly. The reason it does that is because CC is a tangled mass of spaghetti code and indexed libraries inefficiently slapped together over the course of development. It started messy, and has admittedly gotten better, but having that unorganized and frankly ugly base leads to the game being as unstable as it is.

So yeah, maybe know what you're talking about before you spout nonsense.

Also notice that very few people have no crashes at all; they're just like, "Oh, it crashes less." Blame the mods? Let's face it, the reason CC has stayed fun for years is because of its mod support. I very rarely use Vanilla stuff when I play, and the few things I do use are typically edited to my own wont.

tldr ---> Messy base code/engine + increasingly complex additions = unstable game. Generally speaking, of course. It's not that simple but it can pretty much boil down to that.

yeah too bad it's better than what you're running CC on

crashing on any windows platform is entirely Data's fault, are you trying to say it's not his fault he can't code for a single platform properly???

Excluding the pre-2000 windows.

I'm going to retrofit all of my mods to force users to have Build 20 solely for glow pixel support to make everthing look like he came out of TRON because of you now, Grif.

I personally love B24 and actually play it, but once my computer got messed up and I was forced to play Build one for
3 months. Not very good times at all. B20 gold glow was awesome though.

Post Re: Question:
@Ragdoll: That's interesting because when I play I mainly use Vanilla with a few small functional different mods (cauterizer, health packs, movement related bunker systems, etc.) or a very few well polished single weapons (M1014 Shotgun, TF2 Minigun). There hasn't been a user faction that I've enjoyed for more than a week or two. Crobos included, though they come very close. I dunno, the inevitable difference in sprite style is very jarring to me, and in addition many user factions just feel soulless to me. With the Coalition, Dummies, and Ronin you have a feeling of history and character. User factions feel contrived to fill a specific niche or set of rules, vanilla feels grown.

I do use my personal mods a lot, but that's a matter of egotism.

I've grown the habit of giving my favorite actors some lua health regeneration.

Returning to the original question. Well, I usually play when watching a boring movie or series. Although I haven't booted up CC in quite a long time.
