Pardon my colorful language, I just can't remember the actual names for the ranks.

The way to summon and teleport without op permissions is !warpmeto (player) and !warptome (player). !tp takes two parameters and teleports the first to the second, so I didn't want to give that to just anyone (to reduce induced unintended teleportation).

Also, whitty, I changed the server such that it doesn't have a terminal window visible on the server, so don't worry if it's not around. If you want to check if it's running, in a terminal do a netstat -anp | grep 25566. If it has a process listed bound on 127.0.0.1:25566 with a (processID)/java and listed as LISTENING, that's the server.

EDIT: Also looks like MC.net is fixed.

It can sometimes take only one try, and sometimes an entire afternoon, depending on how many requests are going to the login server at a time.

It means that joining may not work that well. Took me 10 tries today, I'm an admin so whitelisting shouldn't matter.

Whitty, we could perhaps make the server also do a web server with just the map hosted on it, I can set up the server so that it automatically refreshes the map every so often (which also reduces the amount of time it takes to render).

Usually a few tests with "down or not" will definitively confirm the status of any server.

I try to join witty server and it sits on "logging in..." for awhile then says "took too long to log in" but minecraft.net is up

Is your server still down or is this minecraft.com problem?

Minecraft.net is intermittently down for logins, and you have to pass the login twice (one to verify you can play multiplayer, and then to verify your name to our server).

EDIT: Also forgot to mention, I'm not whitelisting you until and unless I have express orders from Whitty to do so. You, Projektthor, in particular.
