Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
Are we typically using FoiL's or whitty's server at this point? The last few posts make me think whitty's. When I tried accessing FoiL's, it wouldn't let me in :C

Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
You put your Minecraft name here, and ask to be whitelisted. Like so:
Hey guys, my Minecraft name is Duh102, can I please be whitelisted? Thanks.

Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
Oh, well my minecraft name is johnbowe. Actually, I used to lurk on these forums a long time ago. But I went without a comp for a long time, so I just got back into cc. But I digress. I wonder if there was a way to implement some of the actors in cc into minecraft. I mean the creeper model could easily be repurposed into a dreadnaught. But I digress.

Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
Hi,
I'm a little bit unhappy at this moment. It was my impression that our pretty much only constant rule was we dont add or alter to someone elses creation with for the better or worse with out the original builders permission... unless your name is Whitty, it's Whitty's server so he pretty much gets to do whatever he wants, so if it was Whitty that made changes to my railroad then so be it.
Getting to the point, its a bit offputting to get back on the server and find that someone has decided to change my boosters with out thinking there was a reason I had them the way they were. The track now loses power after the pyramid in a way I had already fixed but... my point is, even if these new booster configurations were awesome... the track is only to be modified by worldwriter who created it and Whitty who owns the server. So if it was Whitty ignore this.
If it wasnt Whitty... dont add to, change or take away anything else, the track still works with some decreased power in that one area so lets keep it that way until I can figure out the power loss... There was a reason i had the cart approach boosters from the side... it works better, consistently... beside its my track for public use, not public modification... other than Whitty... who isnt public... you get my point.
also... there is a minor speed drain when there is a block directly beside the cart which is why I was careful to make all my tunnels 3 blocks wide... the new tunnels and other mods put blocks beside the cart... which isnt even the point. We dont build on each others stuff unless we give each other permission or your username is Whitty or Whitty gives you permission.
Dont get me wrong, I know its not like the railroad got griefed, obviously someone really likes it and just wanted to help, and if you'd asked I probly would have let you but its just the fact that I found something I built changed by someone else... A community runs on respect. We should all be able to anticipate our own inventions and creations will be left for the inventor or creator of said invention or creation to conclude their own invention or creation.

They were unaware that such modifications would reduce efficiency. Consider refurbishing it then placing a sign notifying other users that a 1 block radius away from the apparent structure is still vital to the structure's actual usage.

Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
You missed my point. Put a sign next to your tower or house that removing the second level reduces efficiency so that I'll know not to remove it in experimentation.

Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
Except that the second storey is clearly and intuitively vital. The spaces to the sides of your railway are not. Few people know that blocks on the side slow the train down, nor do they know that the placement of the boosters has quite as much technical nuance as it apparently does.

Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
The same has happened to my coaster; someone decided to add stuff to it, no problem there, but that caused the coaster to sometimes not make it up a certain hill. This does not say I do not appreciate it, but could you please leave the original track in place so I can decide whether or not to take the other route.
