Throw in some ideas for my multi-tool
So guys, I'm making a tool that can "change" into different tools.
Current list of tools: Shovel
Planned: Boomerang Grappling gun of some kind Gravity gun Shield Healer Repeller
Possibly might be added: Flare launcher
Feel free to chip in ideas for more, or tell how you would want a specific tool to work. I might not make them, but your input will help.
Oh, and uh, unlike the portal gun, I'm actually going to make this.

Have it so that you can electrify the grapple rope, so you stick someone and then zap them , sorta like the gun from Dead Space 2.

You should name the device as "The MacGyver".

A handgun. Every state of the art multitool has one.

numgun's Snake mod ha the digger pull you in the direction it's shooting, I think that's pretty handy for heavy actors.

A gun that shoots small laser dots that distract enemies.

Re: Throw in some ideas for my multi-tool
Alright, I all of the base code/scripting done, all that remains is the actual tools, which should be easy.
However, I'm having some problems thinking about what the boomerang should do exactly. Is it supposed to damage things? Retrieve? Both?
How will it be used? Just fire to throw, or trace a path for it to follow?

Re: Throw in some ideas for my multi-tool
Tracing a path would be useful, but inconvenient in your average CC combat situation, depending on how long it takes to trace the path.
Could you have it so that it has blades on the ends? When you hit something it gets stuck the the boomerang, and rotates along with the boomerang back to the thrower. Or an explosive boomerang - boom'rang - hehehe... It just fits the name, really.

Perhaps a laser that makes the user point at the hit target until they choose not to. For aim assistance, you understand.

How 'bout some sorta high heat torch? It would burn 1-2 pixels worth in a short straight line (enough for a bunker wall) with some neat smoldering effects. What you'd do with a 2 pixel wide cut in concrete I don't know.

Maybe give it explosive gel, but with a very short lifetime, and high sharpness, so it can break doors and terrain, without raping halfway across the map?
