Humble Indie Bundle noobs, get in here!
So as you all know, about 200K+ people purchased the HIB this holiday season, and I think some of us (including me) need a little help. I love the concept behind the game, but I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do.
I beat the tutorial, finally; now what do I do? There don't seem to be any maps like the tutorial where I can just mine, build dudes and destroy the other guy's base. And building my own base from scratch is kind of cumbersome-- I just want to hop in, call in a few guys and shoot some dudes.
Any help vets can offer CC noobs? What do we do for fun?
EDIT: I hope this topic can serve as a general help/ starting place for other HIB nubs like me

Kekekekek, building the base is half the fun, but just go to brain defensse, place a brain chamber (far underground) play, enjoy

Play survival, try to kill as many as you can - and download mods.

Re: Humble Indie Bundle noobs, get in here!
I didn't just come in at the HIB (been here for a few builds, rarely post) What I generally do is get the default 'brain vault' on something like rich lands, or anywhere really. I then put this vault above the flattest ground I can find. Seal the entrance and reinforce the bottom/sides with whatever (generally the horizontal/vertical bars), or something. Then I just kill dudes until I get bored. I've tried making bases, but it takes quite a while and unless you do it in scene editor or something, you have to redo it every time. I don't worry about money (either use lua, or just edit some item to cost negative money. I change the m16 (Cortex Command\Ronin.rte\Devices\Weapons\Machineguns\M16.ini) to have a gold value of -9000. I receive 9000 gold every time I order it...and the M16 is one of my favorite rifles. I don't consider it fun at all to dig If you do decide to make a base, it can be awesome, but, meh. I enjoy this as it is. Try to survive against onslaughts, whatever. For this reason, I enjoy one man army, but OMA I can't call in waves of AIs just to see how many can deploy and not die within 10 seconds (it's generally not many and calling them in fast is..annoying, but hey), or anything else.

There are premade bunkers you can find in the mods releases section. Just fill them with people and you're good to go.

I think the best way to practice the game is to play it against another living being. Just make sure you state your rules, as it's only fun the first time when someone places craploads of C4 in your base.

Yea, except when you're on the same frickin team as the guy throwing C4 into your base, it wastes your money, too.

Thanks for the tips guys. I absolutely love the idea behind this game and cannot wait to see it completed! Though I've taken a look around and don't think it ever will :(

Don't worry, CC is probably back on active development, thanks to the influx of HIB buyers. especially their complaints

This game will be amazing once it gets LAN support. Screw the Internet; I have enough friends.

I'm pretty sure Data at some point said he won't go into non-splitscreen multiplayer, LAN or otherwise. Your best bet is figuring out how the multiplayer mod worked and redoing that.
