Howdy.

I bought the HIB - mainly for CC. Until I saw the new HIB, I had never heard of this game.

This is a post to say that I am NOT disappointed - yet. I've been strolling through the forums and I can see that there are many devoted fans of the game that have been dealing with delays and upgrades for a long time.

So perhaps those of us that are new to the game are quite lucky to jump on board this late in the game. (so to speak).

I played for many hours over the weekend and I'm very excited about the potential that Cortex Command has in front of it.

Data - and all other folks involved with this game - please keep it up.

This is an fantastic game already - please see it through to the end! I really hope that I do not end up disappointed.

You all shouldn't be disappointed.
The activity system got revamped.
There is now a full-fledged GUI engine.
The performance was increased.
The campaign mode is in the works(but for some reason Data didn't give us access to it... :/)
There is now Linux port(though much slower than Windows version(which in turn is faster on Linux via Wine than on Windows....))
There are now 4 teams.
The game got balanced a bit.
AI is now smarter, and it can even navigate through teleporters.
And I'm sure there are many more changes under the hood...

(pared down the quote to take up less space)

I've said it a couple of times already, but yeah, this basically. Notable differences are that I actually bought the Humble Bundle for Braid, and I have played one of the earlier builds of Cortex Command. B24 has significant improvements over what I experienced back then.(that is, it's possible to walk around in dirt without sinking in like quicksand. This was not possible the first time I played.)

Some people may be disappointed by B24. I am not one of them.

I meant the Actor and gib viewer mate. ;)

They weren't available without a registered copy before.

so far the only thing I dislike about b24 is the lack of non-scrolling maps. I would always put my brain far to the right side of the map to prevent CPU spawns and then just use gold generators so I can experiment and mess around. I think B24 should have some sort of testing game mode that lets you play by yourself.

It's literally changing a single character in the .ini file of the scene.

Thought that's what the tutorial was for.

Dear community:
You may be satisfied with the state of things, but there's an issue.
You are not the people who this game is being sold to.

This game is being marketed as a fun game for people to get involved with, a game which will be growing as you play it.
It isn't. This is a man's project. That's fine, except for the fact that his little project is not at all fun for people expecting active development. So, he's selling a product while providing information that makes his product appear to be a different type of product entirely.

I'm so enraged that I can't even compose a post properly!
To sum up, you might find the game a fun investment, but to the vast majority of the people who purchased it (people, who I will remind you, will NOT be the ones posting on these forums) feel that they were ripped off! So when you call us trolls, remember that you are, in fact, the minority. You're just the only ones who want to stick around.

If they don't want to make their voice heard, so be it. That isn't our problem. If you want to come here and repeatedly call Data a ♥♥♥♥ or whine about something just like the last topic that got locked, remember that you are, in fact, a minority on these forums.

I agree completely.
I started a thread with similar thoughts. (Which was immediately closed - though I agree I probably shouldt have started a new thread, but posted in an existing one). While I understand where the the moderator defensiveness is coming from, as it must be frustrating to suddenly have so many people complaining on the forums, those defending the game must also see that there is a reason for this. IMHO the game is not really playable atm, and appears be outdated quicker that it is developed (only uses one CPU, menus & fonts dont scale with resolution...). I really dont see why this was included in the HIB since its current state is not acceptable except for beta testing and the development seems really, really slow.

So, do you guys have any proof that the upset purchasers are in the minority?
EDIT:
Derp, missing key word.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, we obviously purchased this game as well...

fearofshorts point was, that many customers are probably dissatisfied, but only a minority of them post in the forum and complain.

Mail, the amount of people that held commonplace at this forums before HIBII.

Whatever, [some of the] new people are good, and I am still not disappointed!
