Acer sucks at netbooks. I haven't tried their desktops, but man their netbooks blow.

All netbooks blow :P. Win7 isn't designed to run with that little power/RAM.

No, I mean like..

Ok, this is what happened to my aspire one

-Screen broke when I closed it too hard
-Wifi card went out, had to replace it
-Keys just kind of came off
-SSD died

Do not get an acer netbook.

I would have tried to bounce you in the Medion direction, as the computer I got from their has been glorious.

I've been running games I'm not even meant to be able to, and a 1 year warranty is quite nice.

Electronic devices are supposed to have two years warranty.

Not always. Most game consoles only have one, for instance. Sometimes you can pay extra money to extend a warranty, but it's not like you're owed one.

Of course, you can take that into consideration when deciding what to buy- if something has a short warranty or none at all, you'd have to make sure it's not some cheap piece of crap that will break after two days.

In Portugal, and most of Europe for that matter always, offers 2 years of warranty for any electronic device. By electronic device I mean computers, consoles, televisions, hi-fi, etc. I assumed good old merica did the same.

Apparently they don't in Britain.

I'm not merry, nor am I in a can.

So I'm definitely not American.

In Britain if you want a stable warranty, you're gonna have to look at a high street shop, where they slap the same warranty on all their products.

Also I new you weren't AMerryCan.

Got this yesterday and set it up today. Goddamn amazing machine. It's so compact and quiet yet it runs exponentially faster than my old computer did in its prime years. Also surprisingly shipped with a new mouse and keyboard, both of which are pretty awesome- the mouse is fast and responsive, and the keyboard is close to identical to my old one, but the keys don't stick and there are some basic hotkeys on here (adjusting volume, controls for playing videos, hotkey for the internet and for Outlook, etc) I still need a new monitor for it as the PC's native resolution is some beautiful widescreen setting- probably 1440x900- and it actually wouldn't initially work with my pitiful 1024x768 limited monitor, so I had to hook the thing up to my widescreen LCD TV and change the resolution manually. Not too much of a hassle, though. I'll probably be able to sell my old computer (CPU/Keyboard/Mouse/Monitor all included) for $100-$200 bucks, if I'm lucky, which should cover the cost of a new monitor.

Also, ironically enough, I ordered this way back on Dec. 23, but I'm using it for the first time on Jan. 4, which happens to be my birthday :P Go figure. Thanks for not letting me miss this awesome deal like a doofus, guys. I can't say much for the PC's gaming capabilities thus far, but as soon as I'm done with my mountains of homework, the first thing I'm doing is playing a round of CC ;)
