Post Mouse Accel
Just bought the game recently and have been enjoying it quite a bit, but I have a problem. The mouse acceleration is driving me nuts, I have no precision at all. Is there a way to disable it?

I'm sorry, I don't believe there is a variable that controls mouse acceleration. You may have to change your computer's mouse acceleration, or just use the Mouse/keyboard setup or use a gamepad.

I'm having exactly the same problem. The mouse acceleration in the game is driving me nuts.

I use a high sensitivity mouse with zero acceleration. Since I don't have any problem being precise with it I don't need acceleration, and without it I can be precise on much longer drags. But even though my drivers and windows settings are all set to have none when I'm in game there is acceleration which makes the pointer fly off into never never land if I move the mouse quickly. I even tried temporarily dialing back my sensitivity from 10 to 5, but it didn't help.

I don't know what kind of multiplier is used but it's wayyyy too high when you already have high sensitivity. I beg of thee, o' gods of Data Realms, please fix... At least split out some of the settings into an INI file or something so I can tweak it. It really bugs me that the game forces me to play with acceleration when I've explicitly set windows and my mouse drivers to have none. It's not unplayable, thankfully... but it definitely makes the game less fun and then menus are a ♥♥♥♥♥ in high resolution with tiiiiiny buttons and HIGHHHH acceleration. heh It makes me all the more annoyed that there isn't a replay mission button when you fail a mission and thus you have to go back through the menus and click all the tiny buttons again. heh

Anyway, just some thoughts. BTW, the game is really damn cool, and yes I know it's still an alpha. (Though I'm beginning to wonder if it's going to just always be an alpha...) I definitely have a couple little pet peeves with the game, but nothing so bad that it makes me stop playing. (Like sinking into the ground and stumbling merely from trying to walk. Dirt acts less like dirt and more like some odd kind of foam intended to impede infantry on the battlefield. The extremely high death rate of any actors set to AI modes especially gold digging as they tend to dig themselves out the bottom of the map... Which brings up the bottom of the map.... srly the planet is hollow? ;p But anyway, like I said, great game. Don't let my pet peeves detract from that statement.)

Is there anything at all I can hack to get the game to stop imposing mouse acceleration?

thanks...

I see that this has apparently still not been fixed. T_T I have upgraded to a new computer with Windows 7 and I have now not only disabled mouse acceleration in windows the usual way I have also set the acceleration curves to be flat 1 to 1 movement via The MarkC Windows 7 Mouse Acceleration Fix... Still no dice. In full screen the game refuses to turn off acceleration.

It looks like maybe it is only in fullscreen so I guess I'll be forced to try playing in a window. I feel kinda bad. This is such a cool game in so many ways, but I feel it just isn't living up to it's potential. It's a cool game that is the idea of a really great game, but it looks like it just isn't going to really go all the way after all I guess. I dunno, just my impression. Really do wish this mouse acceleration thing could get fixed. I greatly prefer playing games in fullscreen, but the acceleration is really frustrating.

Go into settings.ini and set the screen resolution to half of what your screen is minus ten on each side, then set it to 2x pixels.
