   |   [Linux] HIB2 CC b24 slowBad job, Data.On my Linux machine B24 runs a lot slower than on my friend's Windows PC, which has 2x less RAM, generation older Graphics Card and slower CPU.
This especially surprises me, as running b23 via Wine is a lot faster than natively on Windows.
 I am deeply disappointed.
Running slimmed down(xfce4 instead of GNOME, most services off, etc.) Ubuntu 10.10 on Intel Celeron 3.20 GHz and GeForce 6200, 1GB of RAM.

   |   Re: [Linux] HIB2 CC b24 slowCC doesn't exploit GPUs that much.CC also seemingly randomly takes a liking or a disliking towards computers.

   |   Re: [Linux] HIB2 CC b24 slowI just tested Windows version via Wine.Runs nearly twice as fast, the framerate is not choppy and fps decrease/MOIDs curve is much smoother.
The only problem is that sound doesn't appear to work in b24 under Wine.
I tried disabling sound in Linux version, but it didn't work.
So, it's definitely Data(or whoever ported it) who screwed the port up.

   |   Re: [Linux] HIB2 CC b24 slowIt probably was a kind of rushed port, so that's expected.

   |   Re: [Linux] HIB2 CC b24 slowAccording to the game's credits, the one responsible for the port goes by the name of Frank Earl.

   |   Re: [Linux] HIB2 CC b24 slowWell, but that doesn't change the fact that simply bundling Wine with it would result in better performance... Anyway, I hope that Svartalf(nick of that guy) works on the port a bit. It's a shame to see game working worse on a system that was proven to be much more efficient.... Also, I would really like a feature to turn off loading screen. It's sort of bottleneck when it comes to loading for me.....

   |   Re: [Linux] HIB2 CC b24 slowWell, the game was made specifically for windows, so it's almost a given that the ports have worse performance.
What screen do you mean? If it's the intro then you can disable it.

   |   Re: [Linux] HIB2 CC b24 slowi dont think that you can skip that part.you could remove some of the packs that you dont need, like bigger mods or such, that would make things faster i guess

   |   Re: [Linux] HIB2 CC b24 slowThats when the game loads all the rte's into memory, so yeah, you can't disable it.
