   |   Re: Concept artI want to do all of the sprites :o. Well, like Bruce Lee or something said... "like a finger pointing away to the moon".
I wanted to shoot a sprite painting video tutorial today but I had other duties which took the whole day and night (HIB2 promotion art). I'll only be getting 3-4hrs of sleep tonight because I have Yule-shopping to do 'tomorrow' (haven't bought anything yet), but after that I'll try to make some time. I think a video could be interesting to you guys.

Oh, these mockup sprites haven't been painted in parts btw. I'm just trying to see what works and not. I'll be chopping them up once they're approved. Would be cool to see how the smaller trooper works in game though, so I might make a quick test version for that.

   |   Re: Concept artOh yes, that would be awesome and very appreciated.I highly encourage you to do that. When you have the time.

I preemptively made sprites for a mod actor that will fit with the proportions (I still can't get the style right, a guide would help a lot with that) of the new coalition light soldier. If I get all the offsets and stuff set up properly, I'll show you how that looks in-game.

   |   Re: Concept artI'll eat both of your toes.Anyways, were those made with the new style in mind? I'd really like to see this as official stuff too, if not a mod.

   |   Re: Concept artWhat? Lizard isn't a CC developer and that's his own IP, not part of the official CC universe. I can confirm that he's planning on making it into a mod with the usual party unless something large has changed in the last week or so.
Re: Walkpaths - those aren't a proper block to making a new unit, Roy. Making walkpaths isn't really that difficult :/

   |   Re: Concept artPromster wrote: I've just started pixling on the white bots using the new scale. Actually, on average the scale is not really smaller, since there will be heavies and mecha stuff. The scale allows for more variation in relative size. I'm worried that the heads are a bit unreadable at this scale though, which is less fun. A lot of people play the game at 1X for some reason, and this would make the characters tiny, like the fonts. Keep in mind that these are mockups, not final pixel decisions. I'll keep working for as long as I can. I can't ETA. I decided not to touch the fluff part for a bit and just concentrate on getting some of the pictures done. Later I will obviously have to make a stand on some issues. The stars on the intro slide can not be done with line art, so they will go in the render layer eventually as blue/white dots. In reality, stars won't show up on photos of the sky because that would overexpose the planet.Look, whitebots.
