I think they're referring to the shock mortar? It's in this thread somewhere, just read through.

I'm pretty sure I just recently said I'll add some kind of mortar or artillery to the Oni in the future.
I fully intend to completely negate any need for a mech or heavy crab bot or anything of that sort by simply turning the Oni into a fully customizable heavily armed compact bipedal tank in its own right.

I absolutely love this mod. It is the best balanced, themed and put together mod of all CC mods
hands down.

Amazing mod, couple of questions- 1. How do i get the larger turret to fire? It says you can equip it with guns, but i have no idea how. Dropping some next to it doesn't seem to leave it with an option to pick it up, but maybe i did something wrong. 2. Even with the ammo pack on the oni i couldn't seem to get the larger mini guns to work. Is this related to the new patch or am i missing something?

Drop the guns onto the turret. The turret will fire automatically or you may switch to it to fire manually. It has excellent aim.

Eji, you need to drop the ammo supply as an Oni or walk an Oni over it. Then read the Oni weapon descriptions to find out which one suits the weapon you're using.

Something to take note of though: for the next two weeks I'll be visiting my family. I can't say I'll get much modding done in the meantime. EDIT: Looks like I won't be modding at all. Lua still doesn't work on attachables. Merry Christmas!

I do want to see the D51 ML finished though. -- Eji1700 wrote: Amazing mod, couple of questions- 1. How do i get the larger turret to fire? Best way to drop a gun on them is to use an otherwise empty dropship. Just load it with the gun you want to put on it, fly it directly over the turret and drop the gun right on top of it. Eji1700 wrote: 2. Even with the ammo pack on the oni i couldn't seem to get the larger mini guns to work. Is this related to the new patch or am i missing something? You can tell you've done it right if the ammo pack appears to attach to the Oni's back. If you're adding it to their inventory, make sure you swap to it and then drop the pack. It should fall for a moment, then snap to the Oni's back with an audible *click*, at which point you're ready to go; / / / If you're using the miniguns though, I strongly recommend taking one of the ones with an altweapon and setting your altfire key to Z or something. The minigun/rocketlauncher combo is a favourite of mine. ~~ It'd be neat if the pack had a larger vehicle, but I don't think it needs one that badly. If it had one - most likely some kind of spiderish thing? - I'd suggest using a similar system to the turret deployer; have a smaller craft that scuttles into the torso of the walker, which then deploys the legs/head/etc. Nothing too big though.

Nothing too big though. I think a smallish mech would fit darkstorm way better, like 1,5 times the size of an oni. Spiders don't really fit in with the japanese style that the mod now uses IMHO. A more air based unit would be way cooler though, kinda like the current Yosei but more diverse, maybe even a bit bigger.

All of you people who want mechs, even small mechs. Darlos9D wrote: I fully intend to completely negate any need for a mech or heavy crab bot or anything of that sort by simply turning the Oni into a fully customizable heavily armed compact bipedal tank in its own right.

Hello Darlos,
I think I may have a design solution for four-legged characters, there is a bit of curiosity about "Kitsune". if you were to have a working actor, what role would it play? And would the tails have a function?

Personally, I think the tail is a bad idea - instead we should stick to the idea of a 'crab'. Even then, a fully equipped Oni can do everything a turret can do and more, minus protection. I really think we don't need a mech.
