Disappointed?
To everyone, purchasers of the Humble Indie Bundle and veteran players alike: Having generally lurked around the forums for around a year and a half, I can understand why many people have been let down by B24. Heck, it even pissed me off! If you really feel that betrayed, however, why not get yourself some Build 23? DL here: http://devlog.datarealms.com/cortex-com ... -build-23/ The modding community has done its darndest to turn B23 into one of the best (versions of) indie games out there, and they have definitely succeeded. Download the fruits of their labor, make your own mods if you like, play skirmish with friends, and enjoy. Cheers, TheKebbit

Re: Disappointed?
Unfortunately B23 needs a serial code, so HIB buyers will be limited to 6 minute long skirmishes. (Unless they got a serial code with their purchase. But I think they didn't.) I am hoping data will fix B24 from frequent crashing/locking as fast as a normal person can.

Re: Disappointed?
Data will fix 24, he won't let the HIB buyers down. I'll bet he'll already have one ready for when the HIB closes. Updating while people are still buying it would be a pain.

Re: Disappointed?
We're gonna figure out some way to get the HIB buyers into our old licensing system so they can use old versions... (and newer ones). We have some cool plans set in motion for how we're going to deal with updates and licensing in the future. It's gonna be different.

Re: Disappointed?
Keep this up Data, and we won't be so mad from too little dev-community communication.

Re: Disappointed?
I agree. My own mod likely wouldn't be where it is or have its prestige if I didn't constantly converse with those who consume it. I enjoy having a connection with... fans? I guess I'm allowed to call them that? It's funny since my fans are guaranteed to be a subset of your fans. It's like I'm fan-mooching.
Okay, I digress. Being up your fandom's ass has its great benefits, that's all I really wanted to say.

Do we just send you the Email we used to buy HIB2, and we get a serial? Or do we send you the HIB link we used to get CC? Gave my old keys to friends, and will probably never get them back.

Re: Disappointed?
Wouldn't it be easier to send keys to all the emails who purchased the HIB?
And I agree with the communication bit. The lack of direct information from your behalf completely dehumanized you, so the distrust began. I can pretty much guarantee that people will start trusting you more and more if you keep this up.

The key is in the link to the HIB site in the email...

Re: Disappointed?
That's your unique HIB key, not a cortex command one.

Re: Disappointed?
For those that were listening, I will be uploading the TigRadio Talk with Dan (Data) tomorrow night. (It's an hour long interview about B24 and the future of cortex command). It's too big of a file for me to get tonight! Yes, I have Data's permission to post it. -Sk

Re: Disappointed?
♥♥♥♥ yeah tigradio!
Dan, it's been nice seeing you around the last few days.
Re: Disappointment - for me the B24 disappointment isn't about what's there, as I've learned to learn to love again (confusing sentence) and can tweak things as I like anyway, it's about the lack of any massive progress over the very long update drought. It'll be nice to hear about what's been going on and what's planned in the tigradio chat.

Re: Disappointed?
Can we clarify do the HIB Purchasers get the modding tools with their DRM Free Download.
Also I feel the DRM free Build 24 should have been e-mailed or linked for the users who purchased the support the developer package initially rather than popping a link on the forums whether there will be licensing for it going forward (in future releases) if the freebie hunters get another year or more of DRM free latest version with modding tools I think that was ill considered.
