Multiplayer AI
When I try to play this game, after placing weapons and characters, the players randomly do stupid stuff. They jump off cliffs, kill each other, jetpack in to other people's bases, etc. Is there a mod or a way of disabling the AI? I found the hunterbot AI, but i dont think that solves it. Also, is there an improved digger AI somewhere? Sometimes they dont even aim at the god and stand there mining randomly. Thanks

Re: Multiplayer AI
Yeahh... The AI is, well, special. It's probably the single biggest failing point of CC IMHO. There's no fix, so you just kind of have to work around it.
Good luck!

Good luck! They are only good for survival scenarios.

Re: Multiplayer AI
Why does this occur, anyway? There is no way to stop the AI from killing my players before I can control them. Such a shame.

Re: Multiplayer AI
Yeah, they don't really take into account...anything. I just generally space my units out generously, and control only a single guy. I don't expect the others to live long, just shoot at enemies and distract enemy AI somewhat. It doesn't help movement is totally 'blegh' in general either, but, hey.

Re: Multiplayer AI
It's best to: > put AI actors in places they can shoot from but won't jump off > give them high powered rifles and machine guns but not explosive weapons as they will kill each other and you. > do not trust them with anything. > do not expect a return on your investment when buying them > take control whenever possible

Re: Multiplayer AI
Only AI units worth using are R.E.T.A.R.D.s anyway.

And Independent R1. Those things are true killing machines.

I find that Dreadnaughts are very reliable compared to the other vanilla actors. Reliable, as in, they make great turrets.

Re: Multiplayer AI
I generally try to put my drones in "AI Sentry" or "AI Dig" mode, anyway. I don't like it when they start wandering on their own.
Is there any way to make "AI Sentry" the default mode for drones?

Re: Multiplayer AI
Dreadnoughts are the most reliable defense, since they don't sky-dive out of their post and have massive armor.

Re: Multiplayer AI
Typically, if you set the actors to Sentry mode, they don't move. If you set them to Patrol mode, they'll move as they're intended to.
That includes jumping off cliffs and etc.
And I find gold dig unreliable. When I want my AI to dig somewhere, I use the go to function. But, when you use that to dig, you have to place the checkpoints consideribly close to each other.

Re: Multiplayer AI
Jumping off cliffs can happen even with sentry mode, due to their "crouch when particles are around". That usually makes them jump off their intended post.
