Why not have a shoulder mounted uber-cannon like artillery gun?

Kettenkrad wrote: Why not have a shoulder mounted uber-cannon like artillery gun? Well yeah that's kinda one of the ideas. Aw geeze, B24 just came out. Something to take note of though: for the next two weeks I'll be visiting my family. I can't say I'll get much modding done in the meantime. EDIT: Looks like I won't be modding at all. Lua still doesn't work on attachables. Merry Christmas!

Bah. Could you not work around this particular issue?

He has done so and consistently has been for a long time.

You can't work around this one. Alternate ammo scripts can only be run on the gun, which is an attachable.

Uh, no. They can be run from the particles fired from the gun.

In programming, there's generally a hacky, workaround way to do it. The thing is, it makes things prohibitively inefficient and complex.

I already had to do that with the underslung weapons and it ain't fun. It's also really wonky and unreliable. I'm amazed its worked as well as it has so far.

That's understandable.

Hi. I remember you used to have a sort of mortar in this mode. Where did that go? I really liked that weapon is there any chance a mortar like weapon gets added again?

Unitec has good mortars, and a mortar would ruin the feel of this mod. http://forums.datarealms.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=11062

Re: DarkStorm Military Technologies -- Updated 12/20/09
If you really must, however, you can look up either older versions of DarkStorm, which are kicking around, or perhaps DarKlone Tech, which is most certainly readily available. Worse comes to worst, I have a version of DarkStorm that I spliced together from all three versions, but it's a bit massive, and has some personal touches that others may or may not appreciate.

Oh ho ho. DarKlone. Oh how I miss the old "Heavy" unit that was practically invincible.
The olden days when they were modeled after Samurai and actually spoke Japanese.
