Post Re: @B24 hating
I just had a glorious thing happen in CC(Actually, a few things) I managed to pull of an ACTION-ROLL with a browncoat, and rolled around on the ground like Sonic the Hedgehog for a while, with my legs curled into the ball of me. Giggly fun times as I smashed into people.

Also, I cut Dafred clean in half with a machine gun. Like...his groin, and both legs were still attached to each other, and his torso, arms, and head were still attached, too, but he was cut in half.

I couldn't do either of these things in B23, and they were glorious.

I just had a fun moment with B24's ragdolling motions just now..

Too bad I didn't capture it into a GIF.

I managed to cartwheel a robot and managed to spinkick a guy to death in midair.

Then my guy got digged.

The 2nd thing you did could totally be done in B23 and below.
It just wouldn't look as good.

But the 1st thing is definitely B24 magic there.

And Data, as much as you try, you can't please everyone.
I don't even remember the freaking unicycle at all, but the AK-47 was purchased so that he could attempt to collect data from the actual gun so that he could incorperate it in the ingame AK-47.

Like hell it was, that information it all easily available online, and he's not buying any of the other weapons.
He just wanted a cool gun.

I dont get why some people are disappointed with B24. Call me easy to please but I thought it was amazing. The new mission modding system is so much more powerful then the previous one and I'm having alot of fun making new mods for it. Also the new ragdoll physics for units makes alot of moments that much more memorable.

Post Re: @B24 hating
I've only seen a few outburst of people actually insulting him (other than a lot of people saying he's lazy which data rather unapologetically agreed on), everybody is just disappointed by the lack of changes and possibly upset that the game now has no means of protecting it from being freely downloaded, meaning that although unethical we could easily get the game for free, giving us the feeling that we've been ripped of. Also data's conduct recently has been very poor to say the least (in it for the money, indie so can do whatever I want all day, yeah it's a bad release but "I'm lazy", deal with it... etc.).

My guess is that this wouldn't have gone down so badly if data conducted himself better and communicated the possible lack of campaign due to time restraints. Basically if you say there will be a feature in the next version and it isn't and you don't communicate that to the expecting masses, people are going to be disappointed and it would be a good idea to communicate that a while before the release because hey ho if you get it done it's a nice surprise but if you don't people are going to be a little angry before the release but have their expectations set lower rather than being extremely angry/disappointed when it's actually released.

I hope data reads this, or someone shows it him because he needs to be told. If he just apologized it would make things a lot better.

Plus, I did apologize and lament not having a first playable draft of the campaign in this build. It was my hope and intention, and I am also disappointed it didn't make it in the timeframe dictated by the Bundle launch. That said, I am proud of the build that me and the team put together.. as the devlog post will explain, most of the work (however much or little there was) in it are in parts which are still not accessible or obvious yet, but will make a big difference down the road!

Kind of an apology.

Already read that, I guess I just don't think that apology is all that great. He apologizes for not being able to the major bulk of work on the build whilst not apologizing for the reasons behind this: laziness, which he then goes and pretty much says "yeah I'm lazy and I don't care", which kind of counters the apology. He also says "I am proud of the build that me and the team put together" and "sorry to hear some people are disappointed." as if it is entirely our fault that it's not satisfying. So yeah, I guess I would like a more sincere apology with less of the "well I think it's good and that's good enough for me" attitude, which is basically what I was talking about in my last post though I didn't spell it out in as much detail.

I dunno, I'm a pretty lazy man and being yelled at is about the solidest motivation I can get.

I imagine being yelled at by a bunch of people, a sizable bunch of people, a little different than being yelled at by one person.

I have yet to play the new build, I am sure I will get around to it eventually, but I got this to say.

For the people who are most upset about his betrayal of your trust, I am with you, it's a sad day when developers do not do what they can, and only do what they need to get by.

However, when people are disappointed in what they receive, you have no one to blame but yourself. A handy tip I've picked up in life is, don't expect much else but the worst. When something actually comes along well, its amazing, when it inevitably fails miserably, it is of no surprise.

I hope someday that this game becomes what it so deserves. It is harder to find a more entertaining idea contained in such a shitty package. Sure the game has a charm to it that is only found in indie games, but it quickly wears off to reveal the rust and decrepit worksing underneath. I want it to have the shiny case and quotes from others saying how amazing it is, but it won't ever happen. More then likely Data will get bored(assuming he isn't completely done already) and realize it is not worth it to keep this running.

tl:dr, this blows i am sad. oh well, ill just quietly pout and go back to play b23 until i stop having fun.

Well, if Data gives up ever, he should have the decency to release the source code i hope.

Maybe, doubtful. Judging from his reaction towards the communities complaints, he wouldn't lose any sleep if he didn't, knowing full well he owns it, and can do with it as he wishes.
Atleast he is secure in his knowledge.

Wai...wait, wait, wait...The Action Roll is real? I been quest for that for ages. Why does this secret elude me so?!

Also, B24 seems to be set up as a platform rather than a full on package ( double-edged move for a bundle) yet that is quite good. If the ball picks up like it did between B18 to B22, CC will get stacking like Legos. I agree with the communication factor....as anyone can see its can be brutal on hope.

Either way....I want to see what happens when Prom starts modding this game in spare time...Then a lifelline will be born

I agree with much of the sentiment here. To put it plainly my over-hyped hopes were dashed on the rocks of reality. But yelling and trolling and completely flipping out won't make the build any better. I believe this build as more of a stepping stone or framework laid down for the next build. And while I won't get my hopes up again until communication channels with Data are more fluent then they are now, at least something got done.
