The way some of you guys are acting makes you kind of sound like ungrateful babies about this, Data didn't "take your money", you gave it to him, being told up front that you might be buying a never finished game.

I'm sick of seeing you guys whine that he's taking too long.

At least someone else is grateful, I'm grateful and happy about a new build!

Damn straight, broham.

What they said.

This is what you should be doing, being nice shockingly works better to motivate then insulting the dev.

Holy ♥♥♥♥, ToonyMan! Throwing in my two cents, I'm going to say that some of the anger here if justified, but not to the extent that Orphanim and some others are showing. Yes, he took a ♥♥♥♥ long time to update. He probably had a somewhat decent reason for taking this long. Until you find out all the facts, don't start screaming and throwing hissy fits because the update wasn't a massive one. Some people here basically thought that Data had abandoned the game for good. It looks like he's going to continue making the game, and he has definite goals for what he wants the game to be. So please, shut the ♥♥♥♥ up until he tells us everything.

i think in many ways the issue is that he isn't giving us enough info- we don't know if the lacklustre B24 is because he hates us or because he is having flashbacks to his time in 'nam.
Hence informed opinions can't exist, and as such you shouldn't expect them.

So anyone know how to make the CPU be on team 2,3,4 so i can have CPU's shooting eachother? That would surely kill the Criticism since it's fun to watch tards shoot eachother to death.

For Data's sake, I hope this devlog post explains things to the point of satisfaction, or the forum will rip him apart.

Heard about the Indie Bundle thing at Bay12 and found out Cortex Command was going to be in it with a new build release.

So yeah, pretty sweet. Time limits are too short though. Gotta be able to user vary that or something.

Exactly. If we had been told why or what or ♥♥♥♥ ANYTHING we'd be able to have reasonable expectations. Dan has ignored the community, and we've made out super hype for B24 off of what could reasonably be done by an active dev. Dan's obvoiusly got other things to do. I'm completely okay with that. So long as he tells us.

The game got overhyped because we didn't get any indication of what to expect. Too bad, but oh well. I'm still playing B23, and I'll continue to do so until a better version comes out.

Ragdollmaster in the other thread wrote:
Nobody cares about $20, Ben, people are caught up in the ethical ramifications. The guy basically sold out so he could make some quick cash. He's been living mainly off of others, including the community he founded, and now that HIB comes along he decides to siphon off cash from charities and indie game devs who actually give two shits about their games and their communities. The ONLY reason he updated was for money, and yeah, good for you, you've made more money overnight than most of us will for years, but seriously, ♥♥♥♥ move. We've been waiting like strays for some attention and you've been blowing off and not doing anything. If you don't want to code for Cortex Command anymore, don't- but that's no reason to bastardize it. Stopping the game cold turkey, just posting on the blog one day saying "Yeah I'm done this is boring", would have probably been better received than this.

At this point, DaTa, I'm frankly ashamed of being silly enough to trust you. The community cared about you and believed in you, and that's not something to be taken lightly. We invested in your product and had good faith in you, and everybody was hyped up for what might finally be some minor release, and then this bull happens. You don't have any technical or legal obligations to actually care about us, but if you have an ounce of decency in you, you'll address this issue. That's all I have to say.

EDIT: Goddamn activity. @Tomaster, I totally agree. If he'd done so before, it would have helped even more. Now all he has is recovery to do, but it's a long way.

Point is. Keep working, but we'd like to know the inner workings a little more..

We had to create our own expectations, which were far more than what you actually ended up delivering.

If you help us tune those expectations to what is really going on, this won't happen again.

This is exactly what I was thinking, THIS is why People are pissed, THIS is why the Forum is crashing, THIS is why ♥♥♥♥ is going down.

And the only Reason I see is why we had to do this is because the lack of communication. This is what it all comes down to.

I am as well. I look forward to B25, in ~2029.
All silliness aside, I do am happy whenever a build gets released. But the lack of voice from data is really getting on my nerves.
It doesn't matter how lazy someone is, anyone can manage to post at least once a week. Had he done this, then no one would feel the need to pitchfork him right now.
