Re: Hey people, seriously now
God wrote: IMO, Open-source would probably kill CC for good. The fact is that having a release at all is a gift enough, especially during these harsh economic times. Most indie devs lose motivation after four or five releases, the fact Data is even posting at all is a miracle. He could of built our hopes up and left for good straight afterwords.

Re: Hey people, seriously now
pardon the random off-topicness data, but the reason you're getting all this ♥♥♥♥ here is because we've had no way to contact you for the last two years or so, minus a small handful of IM conversations that lasted twenty seconds. You remember how much attention those got? Notice that that's the only way we can contact you. There's a communication problem here, but that's not going to affect you, it'll just make us more grumpy, which doesn't really matter in the long run anyways.
Long and the short:
You're getting a bunch of ♥♥♥♥ now because you haven't been paying attention, and people are angry. If you'd been here all along, I doubt there would be this much outcry over B24.
That said, I'm glad to see the devlog is going to be updated soon.
EDIT: Oh my lord nine posts in the time it took me to write this EDIT2: After reading all those nine posts, OPEN SOURCE IS BAD WILL KILL CC.

Re: Hey people, seriously now
Why, exactly would it kill CC? I think you underestimate the amount of -extremely- talented modders we have on these forums.

Re: Hey people, seriously now
yeah, but there are quite a few more dipshits on the internet than talented modders here. If I were data, I'd hire them as devs, which it seems he's doing.

Re: Hey people, seriously now
Devlog, devlog, devlog. If you had spent 15 minutes a week on a post for your devlog and if you had spend 15 minutes on a post BEFORE you released B24 you wouldn't have had the necessity to come to the forum to whitewash your lack of progress to unhappy fans.
And please don't hide behind your 'ineverpromisedthegametobecompleted' routine. You gladly took a lot of peoples' money and you even cramped your half-finished product into this humble indie bundle. If you weren't sure about this game ever to be finished you should have left it to be freeware. That way people really have no right to ask anything. Once people pay you they expect something in return.

Data went through the process of making CC's original engine, and making new content from scratch that kept people interested so that it could reach the heights it is at to this day. If he has the drive to turn his idea into a reality then he can do anything.

Yes, seven years ago he had an idea and then made it into a realty and after 1 & 1/2 years of inactivity he didn't say to himself "Eh, forget it" he had the strength and confidence to expand his reality and then he came back and told us that we can expect CC development to continue. That is what makes Data important.

Re: Hey people, seriously now
Yeah, I'm glad there was a release at all, but I think it got overhyped because we really didn't know what to expect.
Needless to say, I'll be having 4-player FFAs from now on.
