   |   Re: Hey people, seriously nowWhile I don't really want to be the person who defends Data in this situation, I have to appreciate how ♥♥♥♥ hard it is to actually get off your ass and do something. Not to speak for Data, but I can honestly spend hours doing absolutely shit-all, even when it would be easier to do what I ought to be doing.

It's tough. It isn't something you can readily do anything about.
I'd love to be a motivated person who does what needs to be done. But I'm not. And, I'm guessing, so is Data.

It's an excuse for not updating regularly, though.

   |   Re: Hey people, seriously nowI think the point is, if he's gonna take this seriously, he needs to prove that he's willing to take it seriously.
Unfortunately, part of taking game developing seriously is learning how to please your sometimes very unpleasable fanbases.

You don't have a fanbase. You don't have a game.

And considering the gaming world we live in with some companies that mistreat their fans, this is a very important measure to consider.

Also, I'm afraid no one has a right to demand otherwise.. if you bought the game, you should have noticed the big disclaimer in red about why it is discounted; it says explicitly that there is NO promise of it ever being finished, or when another version will come out. If this somehow wasn't clear enough, you are welcome to ask for a refund through the payment processor, and it will be promptly granted. You are, however, not welcome to make demands and try to guilt me into "working harder for you" because I happen to make a living off the earnings of my project. What I do with my time and money is none of your beeswax, guys - DI'd be happy with just the changelog, honestly. If there are enough underlying structural changes to justify the year and a half wait, I won't complain.

   |   Re: Hey people, seriously nowHm Ophanim, rude namecalling and trolling isn't really motivating to spend more time in the forums.. also, If you had really bought my time, it would be a lot more expensive than what you paid for a license to a copy of the game. Then, you would have had legitimate reason to feel cheated by me not spending it as you think I "should". That's all I am going to discuss with you on the subject of how I choose to live my life.
Plus, I did apologize and lament not having a first playable draft of the campaign in this build. It was my hope and intention, and I am also disappointed it didn't make it in the timeframe dictated by the Bundle launch. That said, I am proud of the build that me and the team put together.. as the devlog post will explain, most of the work (however much or little there was) in it are in parts which are still not accessible or obvious yet, but will make a big difference down the road!

   |   Re: Hey people, seriously nowI think Ophanim was somewhat justified, but I obviously see this from your point of view as well. The sooner we get that devlog, the better, imo.

As I said, just a changelog (or devlog) would be enough for me. I can't judge the game without actually knowing what has changed.

   |   Re: Hey people, seriously nowI think we should all hold off a bit until Data has had a chance to explain the work (or lack thereof) put in during this time. Don't judge lest ye be judged and all that. Maybe we're all just letting off the steam of waiting 18 months for a MINOR UPDATE THAT ISN'T EVEN OPTIMIZED AN-
OK, getting angry again. Brb punching my wall.

tldr -> Calm down a bit, as I'm pretty sure Data gets the message at this point. Adding to the fire won't help.

   |   Re: Hey people, seriously nowOh Dan, don't you lie about being a lazy person, because you aren't.Being an incredibly lazy person myself, sometimes too lazy to get up and take a piss when I want to, I can tell that lazyness doesn't just pop out of nowhere like that.
You used to actively work on CC poping new build once every couple of months (2-3 months at max.) and those builds actually had lots of progress in them (Features, content, engine tweaks, etc.), you also cared about feedback from the community.
I also doubt you magically lost interest in completing CC either. If you would lost interest, you'd lose it long time ago.
Just tell us the wife isn't letting you do this stuff anymore and be done with it.

 Release open-source, save Cortex Command.

I shouldn't have to motivate you to spend more time on the forums. You are the worst indie dev I've ever even heard of.

   |   Re: Hey people, seriously nowLets just let this thread cool off until the Devlog post people. If i didn't read this whole thread and let my anger subside I'd be hating too.

   |   Re: Hey people, seriously nowReason why the progress is so slow, is because he has to have money to pay for things to continue the game. He could be running low on money?
