Re: The Semi-Unofficial "What's changed in B24?" Thread!
Yeah some other strange things about the AI now,
One : It loves to use dropcrates, they are usually crammed with around 4 actors in it so if it is destroyed on landing you get a big pile of gibs
Two : The AI refuses to make use of any assualt rifles, or anything other than specialist weaponry such as shotguns, sniper rifles, and the "Rifle Long". They also occasionally seem to be carry a nail gun and nothing else.

Is the snow and rain functional, or is it just an incomplete future element? I'd try and put it into a scene to find out, but I have no idea how.

I'm sure snow and rain don't function like weather yet. If it does I have yet to see it although snow that is already on the map to begin with does function and I think it is actually denser than sand I will have to check but it is far easier to walk over than sand at the moment.

I actually can't run Build 24, it's prohibitively laggy. I have a 3.2 ghz dual core and gibbing an actor causes a full minute of lag.

I suspect it's something you have to include in the scene file.

The Mauler Shotgun no longer fires ninjastars. It is now a wave of buckshot. Explosives do a lot more damage now, seemingly. The game appears to run faster. Cartwheeling is possible, where limbs fly about around the torso. The same also seems considerably less forgiving.

I think that lag is really dependent on the size of the scene, I was playing one of the grasslands maps and using TLB's computer brain to smash rockets into one another and I maintained a good 25 FPS. I have a 2.1 GHz Dual core Athlon AMD. I tried the same on the larger Caves 1 map and got far worse results with a much slower 4 to 5 FPS.

I can't play for more than 5 minutes. I always just crash. Music keeps playing but the game just freezes.

Kinda dissapointed. Was expecting much more after this long; makes me wander what data's been doing all this time. I'm becoming more sure all the time that he is losing faith in his project.

Please confirm this, as I have not yet done so;.
We know that the revolver cannon got changed back to mass-based only (since the explosive never really did anything) and it's back to six shots.
But to compensate for the buff, they reduced the gun's accuracy.
Still puts it miles above most of the other crappy heavy weapons in the coalition arsenal.
