Re: The Semi-Unofficial "What's changed in B24?" Thread!
one thing that's changed is that jetpacks are ♥♥♥♥ now or people are too heavy or something, because of this the enemy (and I) can't get anywhere unless using a light actor (hence browncoats are ♥♥♥♥ unless defending a stationary position).
Also the mauler shotgun seems to have changed.

I seriously ♥♥♥♥ hope that this isn't it. If it is, I am definitely requesting a refund on all three of my keys, and encourage all of you to do the same. If this is it, everyone has been right all along and Dan hasn't been doing ♥♥♥♥ for the past two years.

The only big change is the activity picker/skirmish menu. Damn it. Oh, and those keys are worthless now. Game doesn't use/need them anymore

I'd just like to point out that the HIB promises free updates, so how is Data going to handle updating the non-DRM version? Is he just going to switch entirely to non-DRM or keep the keys system for normal users but leave HIB-buyers DRM-free? I hope it's the former even though I'm a buyer from both ways. For now we all benefit though, even the ones who haven't bought the game. It's like what happened with IGF where Data released a pre-licensed version except the ones he posted this time don't have any sort of licensing.

With the jetpack change, grenades are now even less useful since now they weigh you down too much for what they're worth.
Most missions from B23 that used to run from the campaign menu can still have their maps accessed (skirmish defense). And their missions can still be played (separate listing on the dropbox)
not sure about the skirmish-only maps.
OTHER CHANGES
Fire effects from grenades no longer act as fire-particle emitters, instead directing taking away from your health.. Incendiary devices now produce LOTS of these objects. Noticably less lag now.
Since doors are stronger now, even C4 doesn't punch through them.
Browncoats are now in the default skirmish activities set.
Considering that all materials are stronger now, it also makes armor like coalition helmets and torso plates stronger. Most weapons that killed heavies in one hit now take multiple rounds to the torso.
Limbs now spin with the torso when blown away with explosives.. No more of that spinning torso crap.

I am currently unsure, but I believe the difficulty slider actually affects the difficulty, not just spawn times. I'm probably wrong.
The Repeller Gun now fires very short-range at a 180 degree angle. Very weak against zombies, it can only keep a Blue Bomb floating.

Also, because metal is stronger now, guns don't get "eaten" as often by enemy gunfire.
Haven't tested browncoat durability yet. Might not be fixed.

Jetpacks easily fixed by increasing 'BurstScale' by 4 (8 by default, 12 makes Robot 1 handle like in B23)
Mods seem compatible. New variable 'HUDVisible = 0/1' - quite self-explanatory. Also there is new scenery. It's awesome.

All the weapons have been tweaked a bit, but they're still not in a final state. That's why some of them are missing.

I need to correct myself.
Fanmade missions can't be played.. Only one player slot is available, and two is required to play.

Good god the Skirmish menu looks awesome now. I'm very impressed. Heck, they made the old Campaign map the new Skirmish map.
Sounds like I'm going to have insane times with CC again.

Re: The Semi-Unofficial "What's changed in B24?" Thread!
The skirmish menu thing is kind of neat, but those objective skirmishes are the kind of thing someone could mod in in about 3 minutes...
I like the jetpack nerf. Maybe a little little bit on the low side, but definitely loads better than the trash we had in older builds.
TBH I would have been happy with a jetpack nerf and a bunch of content change (whitebots plz). Can't say I'm not a little disappointed.

It seems that on defence map you can only drop stuff within a certain radius of your brain. Does this happen to other people? Mainly tested on Grasslands 1.
