I don't recall him saying that 'mid-december' is in fact 'mid-december 2010'. Don't get hopes up.

Data: yes, early dec
for b24
that is fairly certain, since it has to coincide with an event we're planning iwth some other studios

I have no idea how you could possibly misunderstand that and think it was next year.

I mean really, this is like the third time the whole "next year" thing has been brought up.

It's weird that nobody mentioned Humble Indie Bundle #2 as of yet: http://www.humblebundle.com/

The other bundles were for Steam, I believe.

EDIT: Sorry, I don't usually check the gaming section.

I already mentioned that on the gaming section, but I think most half intelligent people already made the connection.

I now officially declare it to be mid December.
Where is it? :-o

But seriously it could be any hour now, so that's cool.

♥♥♥♥ has winning conditions now, multiple gamemodes, difficulty settings and a whole new set of terrains just to name a few things.

I think we all agree that andy was a mistake. A dirty one that we should hide among some dirty socks and knickers.

On a related note. That sounds pretty good numgum. are you trying to balance out the weapons and actors as well or just adding content?

I hate to say it, but content (guns, units, craft) is mostly untouched in b24.
Just minor things like acid shells, rocket thrust deadliness and materials made stronger is pretty much all that was tweaked so the current stuff would last a bit longer.

Thing is, all the content you see in b23 (and b24) is experimental like I said long ago. There will be no balancing done to them, instead I'm cooking up a complete overhaul.
So that means the old stuff, atleast most of it, will be deleted entirely.
The final content will be much more carefully designed and far superior than anything you have seen so far. What we're (or pretty much just me) doing right now, is designing the said content as accurately as possible.
Once all the design documents are done and polished, Data will go over them and approve/make changes to them.
Once we're clear what must be done, its all going to be a very fast process of creating all the final content in a single straight pipeline. Then we do testing/balancing/polishing and finally release it.
The designs go through every aspect of the game. Gameplay, physics, standards, organization, units, weapons, optimization, scenes, bunkers, missions... everything.
And in the end, these designs will also be released to the public as they contain plenty of valuable information for modders, both beginners and advanced.

Progress on the designs has progressed far, the plan is solid and I'm commited to finish this to the end.
The reason why no major additions to content were done is because the designs are still underwork and doing anything right now would be a waste of effort. that and limited time to release b24.
But for now, you will get to enjoy a whole new level of gameplay with the new activity system and an overhauled set of scenes.

and I really need a new nickname.

Oh my god numgun that's a lot of information.

At least compared to the usual information given about things here in DRLFF.

I just hope its not too much, but hell, I know what you people were expecting from B24 and I know what it has.
The talk about my plan is supposed to give a solid idea to the people that ♥♥♥♥ is getting done, instead of not knowing whats going on and speculating about it until the whole idea degenerates to the point that people will simply say "♥♥♥♥ this" and forget the game.

I agree 100% with that statement. I believe we can all see that the forum has entered into a steady decline due to the effects of that last part.

Also numgum get data to let you do some devlog posts. I believe that you're a decent PR man, like you've shown so far. And even if it's just a couple of new weapons or a new actor frequent updates would cheer up the morale a great deal.
