Re: Art Dump
Haha those are pretty cool. The mechs could use some better legs though. Love the steampunk guys or whatever they are supposed to be.

I've always thought good art deserves good critique. It's just been hard to really give a good critique on anything you do since it's usually so huge! I just don't have the time or sanity to slowly go over a huge piece and refine it to serve as an example.
This is the best CC I have ever received, thank you MLC. At first I was a bit confused by what you said about the ambient lighting because when I was making it the lighting seemed fine, then I saw your version (and after picking my jaw out of the carpet) I realized just how off I was. The reason I didn't want to add and stars or clouds is because I wanted to imply that the sky has been covered completely. The white that the hobo was sitting on was supposed to be like ash and debris but it was sorta rushed at that point. That is one heck of an inspiring edit though, though you may have changed the setting a bit, your shading looks like something out of a game, you even fixed the perspective, hell. Here's my current WIP, been working on it little by little since Saturday, probably finish it today. It started out as a group portrait for my airsoft team called Niceville Airsoft Milita with the shack we built in the background but I realized it was going to be too much work and just did one random guy.

Re: Art Dump
I love the grungy look of the first one, makes me think it just rose out of the dirt like a tripod.

Not bad. Looks like something unreal-tournamentish. Great texture work for a first time job!

Re: Art Dump
It has a certain photorealistic feel, and to me, is somewhat on the edge of the uncanny valley. But it's good, don't get me wrong, I like it. Eeh. Somethings I did to kill time. Also an Airship, The Lancet. Needs some texture on the bridge and some propulsion.
