Re: Interview(s) with Data
Just thought you all might be interested in a little something; Quote: CrazyMLC: I was just curious, how will Lua change in B24? New functions, anything like that?
Data: yeah some new functions biggest change is that scenes can be tested for compatibility in the activity scripts
CrazyMLC: Sounds useful!
Data: so the scenario/skirmish menu will let you select an activity first, then automatically present all the scnes which are compatible with it that's what i'm working on right now
CrazyMLC: Ahhh, I gotcha Well, good luck!
Data: thx

Now some of the useless Base.rte junk makes some sense. I tell you, looking through it is one hell of a ride.

Re: Interview(s) with Data
KOTH needs to be implemented in the new online mod when B24 comes out.

Re: Interview(s) with Data
I think that'll have to be at our end, rather than in-game.
The best we could do, we could do right now, because this only uses scenes, not missions. The program still won't be able to run two mission scripts at the same time.

Re: Interview(s) with Data
Hey guys, been lurking since build 18 (kinda creeperishly) to lazy to get involved in a other community e.g login every once and a while. I was just curious to ask, anyone know if Data is still working on it fulltime, if he isnt, kinda sad that we're a side project, if he is, im proud of him, but he is TERRIBLE at managing community. So, is he?

Re: Interview(s) with Data
You're in a thread talking about how he's working on it at the moment and the new version will be released this coming december. ...You are aware of that, surely?
Answer: yes he's working on it, yes he's rubbish at talking to us at all. I think he's got this idea in his mind that DRLFF is a cesspool or something

Re: Interview(s) with Data
Gee, I wonder where he got that idea. Regardless, at least someone can get his attention. And honestly, I don't blame him; in fact, I'd rather he be either working on the game or bloody well living his own life than mucking about with us.
Besides which, the new build is out in just a few weeks.

Re: Interview(s) with Data
Actually that's not confirmed. A few years back he quit a job to work on CC "fulltime", but as he's currently working out of a corner of the Flashbangstudios office I'm in favor of the idea that he does some actual work to earn that spot, rather than it being just a gift.
But it could go either way. If he does work on CC fulltime, I'm really hardpressed to see where he actually earns a living. Or just what the hell he does with all his time, because it's obviously not spent coding.

Re: Interview(s) with Data
CC sells more copies than you would think, but the profits are still definitely not sufficient (or regular enough) to make up all of DaTa's income.
...maybe he lives with his parents?
