Whee, new genned world with awesome biome overlap immediately at spawn. Going to make a shooting range at some point, but my shitty australian internet seems to be having difficulty connecting sometimes.

I genned a new world, an then thought : ICE! SNOW! YAY! I then looked behind and saw a grassland.

New multiplayer world? But I didn't get round to building the maze inside the Creeper cave.

The server software is still buggy from all the stuff Notch added or "fixed". Particularly minecarts.

I think any entity now does horrible things to the server's performance, so carts, boats, whatever.
Not to mention all of the above are invincible and don't disappear (I think).

Can confirm this.
Anyway, the minecarts still work better then before....

Yall can try (admin only) !restart and it should restart the server.

Also, I'm looking into buying/making a server or buying new parts to make a frankserver out of my old desktop.

I think an old P4 with a gig or two of ram should be enough for a minecraft server. It seams to eat up a LOT of memory, but not much else if it's completely dedicated to it.

I was going with a core 2 with 8gb of ram.
You know, for the hardcore stuff.
Or keeping multiple maps up at once.
