   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress - It's about time there's a threadGetting water is pathetically easy in the new versions. All you need to do is dig down 'til you've hit a cavern, then wall it off.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress - It's about time there's a threadThat is, if you have a good enough trap system/military to kill the giant toads and cave crocodiles.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress - It's about time there's a threadThis game is fantastic for something you can sort of play in the background. Like, do some work, tab over, check on your dwarves, tab back, do some work, etc.
You can use the graphical sets if you want, but I prefer the regular tilesets because there is never any confusion as to what something is. It doesnt even take a split-second to identify things.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress - It's about time there's a threadI prefer the vanilla graphics. Less of a pain in the ass to maintain every time there's a new release.
Speaking of the new release, the new adventure mode is going to be awesome.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress - It's about time there's a threadI play this in spurts every month or so, so usually there's a new build, and I'm too lazy to remember how to apply new textures. Vanilla graphics ftw!
