Post Input of X volts to have output power = 30mW?
How many mW is 3 volts? Additionally, how many volts is 30mW? Also, what is the volt/mW ratio?

You see, I have a class III laser with a max output of <30mW (wavelength = 532nm +-10). It's running on two 1.5V AAA batteries, and I'm sure I can kick the power up quite a bit. I just don't know the conversion factor.

Already Googled, didn't see anything.

No, in fact, I just want to see how high I can make this go up to and see what all I can burn/pop.

A watt (the W there) is not a unit directly convertable to volts unless you also know your amperage.
Watts = Volts X Amps
But, if you know the max voltage rating for your diode, then you can try increasing the amperage after getting that many volts.

I don't know much about this, but from what I remember it's some bull♥♥♥♥ about if you have amps aswell, you can calculate out the voltage from watts.

Or something like that. I'm not supposed to know this for a year.

Hmm... I think it must be one of our British-isms. [Hahaha here we make fun of Americisms]

Anyway, I see Watts as a foolish term anyway. I say whack up that voltage and see what happens.

Each quantity has their use. Amplitude is an entirely different quantity that applies to waveforms.

Well if you said:
Watts = Volts X Amps
And my max output is <30mw, and my volts i know is 3, can I find my amps? Also, I REALLY doubt I can change the amps. All I can do is change the volts. The laser is encased in metal.

And if you had a high voltage but a low amperage, you would have a very weak laser beam that lasted a long time.
