Re: Interview(s) with Data
i don't condone spamming, spammers should be hanged. I'm talking about authentic word-of-mouth grassroots ♥♥♥♥ (call me an idealist, you'd probably be right).
Maybe these last few pages should be split off into a new thread? we're getting pretty far from the OP and i think it's a conversation worth having.

Re: Interview(s) with Data
I don't understand why it's so damned difficult for him to write a blog post. Just tell us that he's alive. Whether or not he gives a crap about CC any more. It would take him 30 seconds. He can't allow that much time for all the people that paid him money so he could work on his game?

Re: Interview(s) with Data
while a perfectly valid point kilgannon (really) I guess all I have to say is: bitching doesn't get anyone anywhere, considering that people have been bitching about data's update frequency for longer than I've been on these forums

Re: Interview(s) with Data
Usually complaints help prioritize issues, but in the case of Data and updating frequency, it really does no good. He won't see your post, and if he does, he won't respond to it. But I complained to no end about the lack of .ini-defined throwing velocity values for TDExplosives, and eventually he heard, and he did follow the suggestion. So bitching to Data isn't always entirely fruitless, unless you want him to work faster.
On that train of thought, I might as well toss this out there again: Velocity inheritance for emissions. Please.

I guess he is not around anymore. A new Liaison should be appointed possibly .... Just an idea. If Andy is still active I apologize I just go by what I see and I am not unhappy at all the way things are being run, Just another excited player of an amazing game.

Re: Interview(s) with Data
I've been talking with Data a bit more, and it sounds like he has a lot on his plate, especially for development. Just letting you all know.

Re: Interview(s) with Data
Hey guys, don't take the neglect personally. Data seems like a pretty nice guy; I really doubt he's blowing us off on purpose or from spite. He's just pretty busy is all Not that it really justifies the paucity of blog updates, but it's certainly a valid excuse.

Re: Interview(s) with Data
While I've only been here a month or so, I would like to mention that many game developers, albeit often less successful ones, tend to have a very hands-off approach to their fanbase, and only those who would be blogging on the side anyway tend to be any good with devblogs.
