I am going to get hemorrhoids if I see more outlandish scifi stuff. Honestly, how the ♥♥♥♥ do you propose to combine two knives? How would that even work- would it have two buttons, one for firing the knife, one for injecting gas? The two systems are not integrable.

A weapon designer with a research facility at his disposal couldn't develop that for weeks at the best, yet you propose to do it in the span of seconds with a guy stuck in the jungle, with no modern tools at his disposal. Do you see why you're giving me bloody diarrhea?

He basically does it in advance, as his own tertiary weapon. The only real downside to the weapon is ammo due to the gas canisters inside the knife.

No, as they make sense within their own universe. Trying to physically, scientifically combine two already specialized knives together as a human with no metaphysical power or engineering prowess is retarded.

Realism is relative. In case you haven't notice, we don't have mechs and starships stomping all over the place yet, and there aren't people magically pulling them out of their pockets, either. Continuity is the key to realism. Works of fantasy and fiction can be realistic within their own sets of logic; combining those knives together, manually, would be an example of breaking realism continuity.

Blurs? Storyline continuity. Mutations? See previous response. Man-portable rail cannons? Already theoretically possible with today's technology. Plasma rifles? Yoman let that in, I didn't, but you could also theoretically construct one with today's technology (though it would be more of a flamethrower via superheated gas than a Halo issue rifle and its use would obviously be quite limited due to the lack of high-energy reaction substances available for ammo)

Taking a ballistic knife and a wasp knife and trying to combine the two with jerry-rigging and sheer force so that you end up with some omniknife that can fire its blade and then cause compressed frozen gas to came out of the tip when the blade hits a target? Yeah, no. You cannot do that. At all. In the same way that you can't become a blur by wishing for it really hard, mutate into what you want with radiation exposure, construct a man-portable rail cannon with two pieces of scrap iron and a double-A battery, or build a plasma rifle with a lava lamp and a potato gun. End of story.
