The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Also known as "Men Who Hate Women". Great great movie, saw it on Saturday. It was dubbed from Swedish or whatever, but the voice acting was still pretty good. I really strongly suggest you go see it, unless you are easily offended, as the movie does get a little graphic sometimes.

I dunno, I liked the book much better. And the sequel and the third one, too.

OMG how could I have missed this?! My step-grandparent is the director's cousin! Yea, it sounds distant, and it is. The film most definitely is Swedish, and I'm really not. But the principals still apply.

The books are CONSIERABLY better. I'd hate to see people see the movie and not read the books.

Re: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
This was in the "Teen novels" section of my school library so I doubt the claims of its magnificence, it having been classed beside Twilight and all.

Your library is disappointing. Make some adjustments yourself. Move them to "Adult Fiction"
EDIT: Crayons work well for changing the Classification system.

Re: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
spoilers spoilers alert
lol in the movie a guy gets a dildo is his ass, while the book was less graphic i don't think it's really "teen fiction".
anyways i read all the books and i think both are really good. if you get past the "movies never good as books" bandwagon, the movie was perfectly concise. best adaption i have ever seen, imo. cutting things the story didn't need and condensing what was tedious but vital. really what did the book have that would greatly improve the movie?

Re: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Which two did you read? There's three.
Also, I think "less graphic" is sort of misleading. There's that scene in the first book with her and that guy...
For sure Adults only.

In the dutch version the title would litterally translate to 'Women that men hate'[Vrouwen die mannen haten], which in the dutch grammar is confusing because it could mean either 'women that hate men' or describe a certain type of woman that would be hated by most men. I still don't know

Saw it in swedish. ♥♥♥♥ awesome movie, I'll read the books after exams I think. Anyone who hasn't seen this and who is of appropriate maturity should definitely at least rent it out.

Re: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Yeah, It's kinda fun to read about it now on the webb because I saw it when it was new here in sweden. The movie must be seen with the original language and NOT dubbed - that totally ruins it imo.
I'm also not to happy about that hollywood makes new version of it because jankies are to slow to read subbs, and they will prob cut out the butt scens (sp?)... ... also Naomi is hot as hell.
The other two movies are awesome aswell ("Flickan som lekte med elden", "luftslottet som sprängdes")
And if these movies opens your eyes to swedish movies, be sure to watch "Låt den rätte komma in" / "Let the right one in".
