Post Dieing CC.
Hello all, I haven't logged in quite some time, maybe even a year, who knows.

All i'm saying is that it doesn't look like Cortex Command has been touched in some time, there are extremely rare updates and no information or feed back from the maker, Data.

Funny enough, the news page recommended me to a game called Minecraft a while back which I have bought and been playing for quite some time now. The sad thing is, the updates are slowish but thousands complain about it and its popularity has gone through the roof, although the maker actually updates about once a week/month and even talks and updates through twitter.

You can't even compare Cortex Command to this anymore, I use to frequently check up on different websites for things coming and CC slowly got pushed down and down since nothing at all is happening. How long have we had B23 for, months now isn't it? A single news post since I checked back months ago as well, I believe.

Still, I may not be correct with my figures but my point is still clear. The games maker isn't communicating with his community and not posting anywhere near enough updates, even if they aren't updates to the game and just news updates thats much better then nothing.

I am not trying to be mean or insultive or anything as I am just voicing my opinion but nothing seems to be happening and it doesn't look like anything will happen either. The game has lost most of its members, its popularity and modding and is dieing or even considered dead. I wouldn't call it dead because a few of you are still clinging onto the fan forums but it seems to be just the same people over and over again on a website the maker has seemingly forgotten.

Hopefully this game will pick up eventually, I really didn't expect the game to be done anytime soon and I am not implying that whatsoever, I just didn't expect there to be no communication and almost no news updates or progress.

:???: Just what i've gathered though, if i'm wrong then feel free to scold me, not like it matters much anyway in the current situation CC seems to be in.

Yes it seems Cortex Command is dieing , the gamemaker hasn't done an update in sometime but i think there is news of one but at this time we don't know.

And from my point of view, i think he has given up on this game other than that it would of been good if he had given us some warnning.

Thanks, although i'm not really coming back but just voicing my opinion and seeing what others think. It had to be said and I was surprised the topic wasn't already made, although there are similar ones with off-topic talk about it being dead.

I'll browse a bit though but I can't really come back to something thats dead but still, thanks for the friendly reply.

Check out the "forum Activity" thread, it's where everybody else said the same thing. When I joined, Cortex command had a wonderful, if not very noob-friendly community. Now, that's dwindled down to almost nothing. I can reliably name every single person who posts regularly off the top of my head.

It's sad that Data isn't reading the forums anymore, so he doesn't even know what state this is in.

The other thing is that B24 isn't even going to be worth the wait. From what we've seen, perhaps a campaign mockup, which undoubtedly won't be finished or fleshed out, an perhaps a couple of new Lua tricks for Cavecricket48 to amaze us with. I don't know, and I hope I'm wrong, but it's starting to get pretty grim for the future of this game.

Well, yeah, but I was under the impression that Data had a full blown community here. He's not even updating the Devlog. He's on his own schedule, and he hasn't been able to communicate that with us.

What the ♥♥♥♥ are you babbling about sim doc? Your posts aren't even halfways understandable!
The community won't die as long as people stay in the community, sure, people like you leave at one point or another, but some people simply stay here.

Like me? I don't think ill leave at anypoint.

i liked it here and plus i've been trying to get people that had the game to come back to the community.

And also there are only 10 people that understand anything that i say and one of them is on this forum.

Hey OP, if you'll be DaTa, will you update more frequently? I doubt.
I doubt that you are less lazy than he.

CC not just dieing, you killing him.

And Dan have more important stuff to do than working on not so popular indie game, I think.

Engrish extravaganza.

Heh, thats true and nice and all but Cortex Command brought us here. Yeah we can have a fan forum where the average and only members usually post every now and again but yeah, there are a ton of forums we could do that on.

If data isn't putting any or enough effort in then people leave, then you're left with the old forum members (which are generally not noob friendly in most communities), so the game doesn't expand or the forums.

Oh and of course, the obvious fact that most of us have invested into the development of this game that would eventually be completed and slowly improved until that date, so we can all enjoy it along the road and obviously, why people were so active in the forums.

I paid because it was cheaper to pay now then later and that it was decent plus improving, that was my investment. I didn't think the maker wouldn't have any communication with his community/game, even if the updates are slow.

Anyway i'm just blabbering on, you all know most of this anyway. according to my profile I was 15 when I made this account and now i'm 17...it hasn't gone by that fast has it? I thought I was being inaccurate in saying there hasn't been any progress in over a year but I don't actually think there has been.

Intesresting point but completely irrelevant. It doesn't matter what i'm doing or if I could do better, i'm not the one in his position or creating the game am I? Could your neighbour do better then data?

At the very least though I would communicate with my community or at least let them know what i'm doing or if i've stopped development...remember that there are people that have PAID for the game.

Sure, he may have more important things to do but he hasn't said anything, how do we know? Keeping in mind it takes very little effort to post a message or even get someone else to.

Besides, i'm not killing him, I created this account 2 years ago apparently and nothing has happened, I haven't sat here in the meantime whining.

It could have but forum activity is specifically to do with forum activity, i'm talking about Cortex Command as a whole, more so the game and development situation.

Data's not dead and he's still working on CC. He just happens to be as silent as usual.
