 Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
So uh, in light of recent events in whitty not being around when we needed an admin's touch, plus various downtimes and whatnot, I've been looking into what a dedicated server would cost. I'm no hosting guru though, so does a 20 max players MC server with backup service and mod installation service for $25/mo seem reasonable? Price I'm quoting is from Art of War.

Just trying to add to the conversation. Ok, fine, you got me. I was ACTUALLY trying to brag- while being sarcastic. >_>
I dunno Duh, you could always lower the player limit to 15. Might be a bit cheaper while still being good enough.
Can you change after having bought it?

 Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
Duh, I'm currently getting some shared hosting with Brohoster, and I've found them to be incredibly good, especially with regards to price and support. They don't currently offer Minecraft servers, but they've expressed interest in them, and they have a pre-sales contact thing. Might be worth a look, as prices especially seem to be a lot better. Also, I can probably get some sort of affiliate thing going, which I'd obviously want.

Thanks alk, and sakiskid, for giving me such a great laugh. Anyway, has anybody else recently gotten problems with 64bit W7 and minecraft? It just keeps crashing Java every 5-20mins.
Oh and if you guys need a mod from Europe I'm up.(Kinda funny that my only ever warning on the forums is for backseat...)

 Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
I'm 64 bit Win7 and the only problems I've ever had was with my router and modem dieing earlier today.
Also, fine by me.

 Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server
Well as far as dedicated server hosting goes, Minecraft doesn't have much to offer. The two options are the one advertised on Minecraftforum.net and that Art of War hosting, and the second has bad reviews where I could find them. I'm putting the idea on the backburner until further notice, perhaps when Notch optimizes the server more.
