I typically play games on increasing levels of difficulty, but only if there are other improvements than in Bioshock. I heard all it does is make things scarcer and enemies deal more and take less damage. Other games (like Crysis) where the AI improves or there are actual limitations, I play those on hard.

The thing I didn't like about the Raven Magic-mid was, when the player used it, they just came from nowhere. If you saw them perched around, enough to explain the numbers, or if they burst forth in blue whoomphs, that'd be great.

They didn't come out of nowhere. The man known as Charles was sitting on a bench feeding a swarm of ravens that were perched all over him; you passed him as you headed for the podium to get the gun. They just flew at you when he beckoned them.

The reason this is not called "Bioshock 3" is because Infinite is a deviation of the first two games' styles- it's just set in the same universe as the other two. I can think of at least two series' deviation (namely MGS and Ace Combat), which is kind of what's happening here.

Will it still be a creepy atmospheric FPS? Yes. Are there probably going to be megalomaniacs and cyborgs? Of course. But you shouldn't expect every little detail (eg inclusion of the Sisters, the Plasmids/Gene Tonics, and so on) to be the same.

It's not the same location (ie Rapture), but it's still the same planet, and there are plenty of parallels between the three games' stories and so on.

It's like how Halo: Reach is still set in the same universe as the other Halo games, even though it's technically a prequel. I don't mean physical location so much as the same general setting.

Well, once the player drank the potion from (the late) Charles, didn't the ravens start following you around?

No, they haven't been clear on whether or not it's in the same universe.

Not that the player can see.

Bioshock infinite is NOT set in the same universe as bioshock 2/1.
I already know about prequels/sequels, learned that ♥♥♥♥ around eight years ago.
Columbia is a city in the sky, with advanced technology, far more than bioshock deepseaunderwateruniverse.
Just look at them :v
They're both spinoffs of human history, but that doesn't make them set in the same universe.

Technology: it could be in the future of that same universe, or even in the same time period- an underwater city complete with cyborgs, unmanned security drones, and the technology to alter a person's DNA enough to grant them freakish powers in the 1960's is pretty freaking advanced.

Also, like I mentioned before there are more than enough similarities between the three games to assume that they all take place in the same world. There's a reason that it still has "Bioshock" in the title, after all :P

To once again dredge up the example of MGS- the sneaking games are still set in the same universe as the new Rising action games are.

But anyways; it hasn't been specified yet. I'm just assuming. My assumptions are no less correct or wrong than the assumptions that this is set in a totally different world.

God damnit ragdoll they have confirmed themselves that it's in another place.
If you had actually understood what rapture was then you might have understood that they are seperate universes.
Only thing they had there before rapture was made that we ain't got was a device that removes water from buildings n such.

:| What.

Also; it's actually set in 1912, ie some 50 years before the inception of Rapture. Just because it is in a different time period and a different physical location does not necessarily mean that it is totally disconnected from the first two games. You don't need to have a direct line of sequels/prequels to have a series of games set in the same universe. For instance; the Alphas? Do you remember, by chance, the Alpha Series from Bioshock 2? They could very conceivably be the predecessors of Ryan's own hulking brutes.

Nowhere on the developers' sites does it say that it is disconnected from Bioshock 1 + 2. It's not directly related, but it is in the same universe.
